Because it increases the uncertainty in Iran. A highly classified document was "leaked". It was leaked to a highly credible reporter to lend it authenticity. This was almost assuredly a planned leak. Besides, it should be no secret to anyone that the US would be engaging in secret ops in Iran, for some time now. This is just part of the psychological warfare game with Iran.”

“In my opinion, if we're going to attack, then we should attack now. All this hinting about an attack is fueling higher oil prices, and that affects me directly. Protract this over time, and it serves to further bring down the economy. I'd rather attack fast and hard and go through a short-lived spike in oil/gas prices as Tehran tries and ultimately fails to block off the strait of hormuz.
