My washing machine died.

“As if it wasn't bad enough that the drugs for Kamper & my sinus infection cost out the wazoo, yesterday the smoke alarm starts blaring on an otherwise peaceful day. The bearings in the washing machine burned up (no damage to the apt). The repair guy said it would cost more to fix it than it was worth. We had to get a new one today. Luckily we have a Sears Scratch & Dent shop here in town. That saved us a couple hundred bucks. Thank God Feburary is over, I can't afford it any more.”

Our stove died cooking Christmas breakfast.

“When my washer crapped out, I visited the Sears Scratch-n-Dent store, and then haggled ABC Warehouse down to the same price. ABC dented my dryer just a bit, so they gave me more money back. I"m not a good haggler, so buying my washer/dryer is one of my finer moments. :)”
