I am wondering if anyone owns the MSR hubba one person tent? And if so...does the narrow width of only 26" bother you? It seems very narrow to sleep in..im thinking if one were to sleep on their side..and bend your legs, that your knees would be shoved up against the tent wall..maybe Im wrong. It looks like a very nice tent..and maybe once in it the width would not be that bad.
Thanks everyone for any info!

Wouldn't work for me. My shoulders are about that wide. I wouldn't be able to move without face planting into the tent walls.

trekkngirl has one.
I'm thinking of getting one myself.
I liked the freestanding feature.
For western trips where you are camping on rock, it might just be the ticket.

I have a MSR MicroZoid and I believe it is smaller that this. The Zoid is a glorified Bivy sack. It is hard to get in and out of, but it get's the job done for only 2 pounds 5 ounces.

Excellet storm protection too!

Stovie, we've campem on rock with our TarpTent. It's really easy when you have a few heavy rocks around. Or are you trying to justify a new gear purchase?
I do think we're going with the Hubba Hubba 2 for our next purchase. The Squall is too small for both of us.

Dang it Currahee! You know I'm a bit of a gear whore! ;-)

Sorry Stovie. Of course you need that freestanding home away from home! ;~)

Hubba
I'm 6'2", 200#. I have a Hubba and sleep every which way in it and have not felt constrained by the width. I like the tent very much. It feels cavernous compared to the Walrus MicroSwift I previously used.

I had to know so Kamper just measured me across the shoulders. 20" That would leave very little wiggle room. I'm a squirmer.

isn't 26 inches about the size of a standard coffin?

Roam
I think the Hubba Hubba has better ventilation.

probably so - a little mesh would go a long way in a coffin!

We just got the hubba and hubba hubba in the store the other day. I am going to compare it to the big agnes seedhouse 1 and 2 and big agnes also has a seedhouse 1sl and 2sl. All 4 look great from the specs. the sl stands for super light.

But, it might be worth comparing the "hubbas" to "seedhouses". Just thought I would throw that out for comparision.

Hey Binks. I actually had a thread going asking people to compare. I am looking at the Hubba Hubba because of its 2 entrances. Angie & I hate climbing over each other when ma nature calls.

PS Angie got a great job here in Nashville, we're going to be buying a house soon. By fall I'll prolly be going to school @ MTSU again, so I'll be seeing more of you.

I've got the Hubba Hubba. No condensation complaints. I'm tall and skinnny, my wife is short and skinny, so no issues with being cramped. Good tent in my book. As good as the MH I used to take with me.

Thanks everyone for all your comments on this tent!

I really like it..but I am thinking the narrow width is not going be enough room if I take one of our dogs with me...she likes to sleep right next to me when we backpack together :)..looks like I will have to carry a bit more weight if I want that extra space

Currahee, if your looking into the MSR Hubba Hubba you may want to check out the REI Quarter Dome. Very light 2 doors, 2 person.

See my post on the other Hubba thread.

I've also tried out the Seelhouse SL1. I definately didn't like the design. I can't sit up in it (I'm 6'1" and #195). My head hits the roof. And when sitting up, with the 1 pole design the sides suck right in and come in contact with my shoulders. I also don't like the entry on the end of the tent. I much prefer the side entry of the Hubba. And the pole design of the Hubba is much nicer for utilizing space inside the tent.

If they'd make the Hubba wider and a little longer they would have a great design IMO.
