Indoor camping ~ A trip report

“Okayyyyy, here I am in the Bluetick Tower with no heat. I woke up this morning and my legs were cold, but the radiators were colder. I fired up the oven to warm up the kitchen and my little catalytic heater to warm the bathroom. The hot water heater is still working (thank God for that), so I had a hot shower.

Tonight I tried to relight the pilot light, but it must be clogged up. So I called the landlord. He won't be able to get somebody here until tomorrow, so I brought up a sleeping bag so I can get a night's sleep without freezing. The outside temp will be in the teens tonight and we've had strong winds all evening as a front blew through. Looks like a fun night ahead, and a great time crawling out of the sack in the morning.”

“I can't get the rainfly staked out in this wind!”

I've had worse awakenings though. At least my water bottle wasn't frozen solid.”

“I have heat. Turned it on about 6 p.m. and it's still not warm, but we're getting there!”
