“I went to a bachelor party in Mexico way back when. They all figured that a couple of gringos would never be able to drink tequila and were pouring full glasses of the stuff. I am happy to report that I represented the US quite honorably. Not only did I kick butt in the ‘feats of strength’ demonstrations, I held my cookies (unlike many of the native-born tequila drinkers). I did lose most of my Spanish facilities by the end of the night though.”

I agree, to a degree. I just think doing a shot with lime & sugar, or lemon, or chasers is..........being a wuss. LOL!

Or maybe, if you have to hide the taste then why drink it? Does that work for you?

BTW - I don't do shots with men at all. I tend to do them with women.

“There are good tasting Tequilas out there. Try Don Julio anejo or another premium. Most stuff behind the bar is low quality. Jose Quervo is consistantly ranked as one of the poorest quality and tasting tequilas on the market. But it has brand loyalty cause that's what they've been feeding us gringos for years. Same with Corona. Muck!!”

“Top shelf tequilas are amazingly smooth compared to anything like Cuervo and below.

Although I think Cuervo has started making top shelf varieties as well.

I find a shot of Cuervo or two, oddly satisfying and can't explain why. I have it in my apt for me alone......
