9:56:09 AM 3/08/05 “Olay!” 9:58:10 AM 3/08/05 “I could have beat that! Well, back in the day. Used to put away a 1/5 every Saturday night” 10:54:26 AM 3/08/05 “thar ain't 50 shots in 1/5. That'd be about two 1/5s. last edited: 3/08/05 11:00:11 AM” 10:56:08 AM 3/08/05 “1.5oz per shot = 75oz., more than a half gallon of liquor, or nearly three fifths. 1.25oz per shot = 62.5oz., or 2.44 fifths. That's a lot of liquor.” 11:00:03 AM 3/08/05 “I was goin' by 1 oz. shot.” 11:00:47 AM 3/08/05 “Okay! Well maybe not.” 11:02:02 AM 3/08/05 “OK, we need Currahee in here. What a "shot" is varies from bar to bar, but I think traditionally, a shot is 1.5 oz., and a "pony shot" is 1.25. But we should hear from the pro.” 11:02:51 AM 3/08/05 “Now, I will brag a little, Once sat on a couch at a party with a half gallon (big ole' plastic bottle) of JD when I was 21. Drank it all, puked my guts out and drove home. Somewhat surprised I'm still alive. I can't even stand the smell of JD now, makes me wanna puke.” 11:02:57 AM 3/08/05 “From what I understand, a Shot is 1.0 Oz. A "Jigger" is 1.5 Oz.” 12:41:16 PM 3/08/05 “1 shot = 44.3602945 milliliters last edited: 3/08/05 12:51:26 PM” 12:44:33 PM 3/08/05 “That is why I cannot drink tequilla anymore Bison. The smell makes me hurl! You don't want to hear some of my driving home stories.” 12:44:55 PM 3/08/05 “I ate the worm from the bottom of a Mezcal bottle in my early years. Wasn't able to walk into a Mexican restaraunt for many years after that. The smell made my stomache turn. Those days are long gone as I can now do many a shot of Tequila with none of the periferals (lemon, salt).” 12:53:59 PM 3/08/05 “winter solstice will be challenging for the title as soon as she sees this!” 1:11:32 PM 3/08/05 “Yeah, a few of yall have seen what happens to me when I drink too much liquor......” 1:16:04 PM 3/08/05 “I thought a shot was about three fingers? well it is in the Treehouse Bar.” 1:18:04 PM 3/08/05 “The standard is 1.25 oz. 1.5 ounces or better for a rocks pour. Bars around here use 1 liter bottles. That Darwin Winner drank almost 2 liters of Tequila.” 1:39:28 PM 3/08/05 “shot's at my bar are served in rock glasses, you pussies!” 3:18:47 PM 3/08/05 “Get your rocks off?” 3:21:05 PM 3/08/05 “LOL! Shouldn't auotcensor take that word out?” 3:22:56 PM 3/08/05 “No, you spelled it right. Now, if you had spelled it "#&%!$s", then it would have been censored.” 3:23:40 PM 3/08/05 “I didn't say anything wrong. Now if I said #&%!$ you #&%!$, dip#&%!$, slapdick! Then it should be cencsored” 3:24:41 PM 3/08/05 “we were talking about pussies, wk. As in wusses that think a shot is 1-1.5 ounces.” 3:32:35 PM 3/08/05 “OH, sorry dude. I didn't mean to call you a slapdick. I don't do shots anymore. Too hard.” 3:36:24 PM 3/08/05 “you called me a slapdick? Oh. I thought you were describing an action....... :) No worries!” 3:43:08 PM 3/08/05 “I went to a bachelor party in Mexico way back when. They all figured that a couple of gringos would never be able to drink tequila and were pouring full glasses of the stuff. I am happy to report that I represented the US quite honorably. Not only did I kick butt in the ‘feats of strength’ demonstrations, I held my cookies (unlike many of the native-born tequila drinkers). I did lose most of my Spanish facilities by the end of the night though.” 4:28:54 PM 3/08/05 “I hope you didn't use anything to hide the taste.” 4:35:57 PM 3/08/05 “Are you callin' me a pussy? last edited: 3/08/05 4:38:57 PM” 4:37:00 PM 3/08/05 “Don't know. I shoot tequila straight. You?” 4:40:11 PM 3/08/05 “Nowadays? - I rarely drink at all. Then? - We were drinking tequila by the glass. Not slamming shots while holding lemons at the ready with our pinkies extended. I must admit I never understood the mentality that equates alcoholism with machismo, especially since most experienced drinkers make such very poor excuses for men.” 4:51:31 PM 3/08/05 “LOL! I agree, to a degree. I just think doing a shot with lime & sugar, or lemon, or chasers is..........being a wuss. LOL! Or maybe, if you have to hide the taste then why drink it? Does that work for you? BTW - I don't do shots with men at all. I tend to do them with women. last edited: 3/08/05 5:03:28 PM” 5:00:27 PM 3/08/05 “We call lime and salt training wheels. As in, "You want training wheels with that"? I don't usually do shots either. The exception is at The Red Door. oof.” 5:05:19 PM 3/08/05 “"Or maybe, if you have to hide the taste then why drink it? Does that work for you?" I agree. Even with a lemon it tastes like shlt.” 5:08:32 PM 3/08/05 “There are good tasting Tequilas out there. Try Don Julio anejo or another premium. Most stuff behind the bar is low quality. Jose Quervo is consistantly ranked as one of the poorest quality and tasting tequilas on the market. But it has brand loyalty cause that's what they've been feeding us gringos for years. Same with Corona. Muck!!” 5:12:01 PM 3/08/05 “Top shelf tequilas are amazingly smooth compared to anything like Cuervo and below. Although I think Cuervo has started making top shelf varieties as well. I find a shot of Cuervo or two, oddly satisfying and can't explain why. I have it in my apt for me alone...... how "macho" is that?” 5:12:31 PM 3/08/05 “"Shot glass A small glass suitable for vodka, whiskey and other liquors. Many "shot" mixed drinks also call for shot glasses. Typical Size: 1.5 oz." Ref: Home Bartender guide Section (1) The Basics Glasses and containers ” 5:22:38 PM 3/08/05 “Mixed shots (shooter) usually have multiple liquors and mixers so we use a 5 ounce glass to hold what's usually a 3-4 ounce shooter.” 5:32:29 PM 3/08/05 HOT DOG!!!!! “Finally I win something!!!!
