“Hi buddys,i am a hiker in city of Shenzhen, China.i'd like to share some hiking experiences with you.

“Welcome to Trail Talk(TT), kds. Your link provides an interesting site. Do you have a special reason for your English version, besides wanting to share trail experiences?

I looked at "Tricks on how to stay dry." I liked:

Bring two half-liter bottles.
Not just for water, but for drying socks at night. You'll want the narrow, Lexan type because you're going to fill them with boiling water and roll your wrung-out socks over them. The odors unleashed might make a skunk gag, but by morning your socks will be dry.

However, this may not work in freezing temperatures. I prefer to place wet socks against my body. By morning they are dry and warm.

BTW, my last two daughters are 25% Chinese(beautiful and intelligent). My last wife was Chinese. Some of my closest relatives(by marriage) are Chinese. The nearest I have been to China is in the East China Sea(during the 1988 Olympics in Korea). Good luck with your English site page. I hope you find some good ideas here on TT.

You may not get any more posts from me for a while. My computer may be disconnected from the Internet at any time now, as I prepare to leave home for two to four months of mountain backpacking.

I'm interested in finding out about hiking trips in China! I hope you will post here about some of the hikes in China--I think it would be great to hear about them from a "local" perspective!

I also visited your site and am having a little difficulty navigating your site... :-) If you can include more English "buttons" to help people find the information, that would be great!

My ethnic background is Chinese (born in the USA)-- I speak Mandarin, but I do not do too much reading or writing. The first (and last) time I visited was in 1985... but other members my family has been there within the last 20 years and have told me about the incredible changes over the years....

I am interested in finding out more about hiking experiences in China, because I would like to see the beauty of the country, not just the big cities. I love to take photographs and would be excited to view the beautiful landscapes that are often depicted in the paintings... :-)

and recognize most of it... :-) (learned "traditional" vs.. simplified, but I can still read what you've written! :-)

Can't afford to go to China this year, but hopefully in the future-- I would love to have my husband see it--He isn't Chinese but he actually knows a little more about history because he took a Chinese History class in college... :-) I've taught him some Mandarin, so he can say some simple phrases... :-)

If any of the people on your site would like to visit the U.S., I am sure that people on Trail Talk would love to tell them about wonderful places to hike over here! (Maybe one day some of us can go hike in China as a group!)

“Some of my Chinese relatives, by marriage, spent three months in China this past fall. They are returning for two months in April and invited me to go with them. Round trip air fare is only around $800. I would go with them, but I want to be at my youngest daughter's college graduation in May. But maybe I will get to China soon. It would be great to meet you and some of your friends.”

I have a good friend who has worked quite a bit in China - mostly in financial set-up for telecommunications. Outside of home China is his favourite country.

I am Canadian and, like you, avoid political discussions.

One day I hope to visit China.
