I found it !!!!!!!
The story:
Last weeks trip to the Pa Grand Canyon, I lost my wedding ring. Imagine comming home and telling your wife that! Well I just got back from a total of 6hrs on the road, an $80.00 rental fee for a metal detector. But I found it !! needle in a haystack, $hit luck, whatever you wanna call it, but its now back where it belongs. It was under about 4" of snow and stuck in some ice. It was right in front of where I had pitched the tent. I found it in only 2 sweeps with the detector (thing was cool). I was at the campsite about 5 min total. My wife and daughter went along, but waited in the parking area, because the trail was full of ice. It only took me about 1 1/2 hours to hike in and out. She started crying when I took off my glove and showed her my hand. I have been on many hiking trips, but this one I dont think I could top.

Good for you Crazypace! Glad you found it before someone else did... :-)

Your wife is very lucky and so are you! :-) Even though a wedding ring is a symbol of your vows and love for each other, it is a very powerful one for many people...both for men and women...

WOW! That is a sweet story.

Playing 16" softball last year, I had a shot ricochet off my ring finger pretty bad. The finger swelled so fast, I did not have time to get the ring off. Finger turned all purple and yellow.

Thoughht for a second that I might have to have the ring cut off to relieve some pressure. All worked good and I didn't loose it.

That raises an interesting question...do you hike with or without your ring? I would feel horrible if it got lost, but I feel naked without it.

How 'bout you guys?

crazypace,
did you walk in from blackwell? my son was up there on sunday and saw a set of tracks going in , then back out for about 2-3 miles. They had a green car parked at that trailhead.

They may have missed your site. They did the whole trail in one day. They jumped on and off a road that paraelled the trail from time to time because of the snow and their lack of snowshoes. About 11-12 hours total. Oh .. to be young and stupid.
