looky what I saw today....

“Windwalker...I truly believe all the animals of the forest LOVE you! I love your wildlife photography the best I think...your pictures you get of them show them always in such a tranquil mood and setting. The fawns are just the sweetest! they have the most sweet faces..picture number 6 of the fawn looking over his or her shoulder makes me cry almost it is so beautiful. Are you going to have these in your note card collection?

Yes...Mt Carillon & Lake Tulainyo!!!! And maybe even attempting Mt. Russell, I will be pleased as punch to get to Carillon! I am very excited! I will be finally meeting and hiking with Snownymph..after one year of talking via emails. I am really looking forward on meeting her & hiking with her!..she is a great and very kind person..as you know
I leave tomorrow Saturday to drive down to the Whitney portal TH..and the hike on Sunday...back home on Monday..a very short trip, but it will be fun

“Coyote or Wolf? Nice coat on that critter! Looks like you caught her coming out of the woods alongside the road? Beautiful shot Michael!”

“Wolves are still protected, aren't they? Coyotes are allowed to be shot in some states if you can prove nuisance or harm or danger.”

“Wolves actually are still protected but I won't tell if you don't jk but in Idaho coyotes are quite frequently used for target practice.”

“we had a coyote come through our yard on thursday night, he was big and beautiful, chasing down a rabbit, maybe about 30 feet from where we were sitting on our porch. it was awesome! we live in single story apartments with a large amount of open green space just half a block off of an open mountain preserve. i feel blessed to live here, we have many wild animals coming through and/or living here.”

“we have entirely too many coyotes here that's why people use them for target practice all the time but since you don't live in Idaho I don't suppose you know what the've been doing with the wolves. Afew years back they introced woves into Idaho under the pretens of this being their naatural habitat and that they would be able to open controlled hunts on them in a few years the only problem is that a few years passed and now they are killing livestock and wildlife all over the place but you still can't shoot them even if they are attacking your livestock and last year when I went hunting in my usual place where elk and deer are normally quite thick, I didn't see any of either of them due to the wolves it's become quite an isuue around these parts. Coyote...don't believe we have any wolves in Sequoia. In Sequoia National Park...all of the animals are protected.

The coyotes that are down here in cattle country are really nervous and ratty looking.
The ones up in Sequoia have nice healthy coats and are totally unafraid.”

“i thought it was a coyote because of the size, ears and tail, it was the beautiful coat that threw me off. Magnificent!

in the last few years the coyotes here have become rather bold, i believe there is a shortage of food in the hills due to the drought. the one we saw on thursday night though looked pretty fat and sassy.”

My friend that I'll be on the Ouachita Trail with end of this month just bought a Canon tele lens, about 5k worth......f2.6 300 I believe.
What do you use?”

“Crazygurl, I'm currently using the Canon 40D.
My son had been using my Rebel....but when I bought the 40D, he took over the 20D ;)

I shot those with my 70-200 f/2.8 IS "L" lens.
Also have the f/4 300mm IS "L" lens but my dream lens is 600mm f/4 IS "L" but it's $8k so that will have to wait.

Chappy that lens weighs a ton....is he going to backpack with that beast?
