Anyone know of any good off-brand t-shirts? Paying $20 for a polyester t-shirt has always bothered me. Any suggestions?

Well, some people here will think you are the spawn of satan for shopping there and sneer at you.

Not me, I love Wal-Mart shopping. ;-)

Wal-Mart also sells some Polyster T's for $7.44. They are made by Starter but are non-compression style. Target also carries Dry Management shirts by Champion for $10.

Check out the Nike Outlet at Opry Mills. You can get good deals there. Also Target.

What is the difference between compression and non-compression?

Compression ones are tight like Under Armor. Unless you have a much much better figure then I do you probably want the non-compression. They sell a couple of different weaves too... I prefer the lighter almost mesh style weave. They also have a new version that feels almost like cotton.

Why not go to REI, I usually get my poly shirts there for about $10.

I have a few other more expensive hiking shirts and these work just as well for me.

I've never seen a poly shirt at REI for $20, not unless it's a scratch n dent. Hell even the udnerwear is $20.00. I like REI but they are expensive. I prefer to shop at my local Army surpluss store or Bass Pro Shop. There are a few things that only REI carries that I will buy from them.

Put it this way...this year my dividend payment was $1.70 from REI.

Not on their website but bmrisko is right "Wal-Mart also sells some Polyster T's for $7.44." I have several... the "tagless tag" printed on the inside back neck says RN#70892. The SKU on the tag is739754482342.

It's made from their trademarked "Dri-Star" material. It has a little scotchbtite "dri-star" logo on the left sleeve. They're great... I also have UnderArmour's "Dri-Tech" shirts... 3 times the money and no better!

Buy em now cuz Starter was just bought by Nike and you KNOW what that mean$
