I may get a bivvy, for next winter - sug gestions?

“I've looked at them as well, not that particiular model, but I like the ones that have the little hoop pole to keep the cover off your face. Match that puppy up with a tarp and your set!”

“That's what I do Roam, I have an OR Advanced Bivy, most of the time I take it by itself, but sometimes I'll carry a lightweigt tarp. Don't need anything else.”

“Yep, I saw Pennsy set up like that once and it looked like an ideal shelter solution.”

“For long distance hikes in cool/cold weather, I use the OR bivy/tarp setup. With stakes and rope I'm right at 40oz. Works for me!”

Its really meant to be used under a tarp though. the bottom is waterproof, but the top is only water repellent.
