It doesn't seem to matter here. It is sunny 65 degrees and the boats are out. Big powerful marine engines are guzzling away at 1 or 2 miles per gallon. My bateauxs are docked, time to buy a sailboat.

I went out last night to top off at $2.01 a gallon (costco). Now it's up to $2.15 there, so it's probably about 2.20 or so everywhere else. This sucks! I'm imagining summer prices that'll make it impossible to go anywhere far.

Unless they're playing an April Fools joke on us.

Can't Afford To Go On Vacation??
BS.

If you drive 1000 miles, and you get 15 mpg,and gas costs an additional $0.20/gallon, the increase in your trip will cost you an additional $13.33

2000 miles will cost an additional $26.66

I get a kick listening to people whine about this, I think it's great.

It really won't stop people from traveling. The amount of gas I use to travel to work each year in my F150 pick-up, would equal the amout of fuel I burn in my boat in 48 hours. It's a good thing I only run the boat 3 to 4 hours at a time.

It costs me about $50 - $60 every 3 - 4 weeks, which is how often I fill up my 1-ton crew cab pickup truck with the 454 engine.

I have averaged 12 - 13 mpg in the 72,000 miles I have driven it.

I get a kick out of how people complain about the cost of a gallon of gas. But then they buy a bottle of water. People, do you realize how much a gallon of water costs when you purchase it by the 16-oz or 1L bottle? At least $6/gallon. Water isn't even refined like gasoline is.

I started this thread for a damn reason!

Of which I have forgetten.

But it's nice to know that Michigan is not the highest in gas prices which we shouldn't be since we have a high population of Iraqis living here....at least the ones that have registered....who the hell knows anymore of who is who and what is what...all I know is that I don't know much...just start crazy threads.

I noticed Wolfeyes. $2.20.9 on Saturday in Slyon MI. I drive 100 miles a day commuting to work. I guess I look at it the way Chief does except that I don't think "cost of living" raises are very common anymore and salaries aren't being reported on the rise. We're all just being squinched a little at a time.

Coffee prices are to skyrocket I heard.

Is the ozone layer still deteriorating?

And what about the weather. I wish it would be Spring already!!!!

Waaaaaaa! I feel like whining today. Must cheer up.

100 mile commute every day would suck.

It takes me about 15 minutes, and that's with dropping my daughter off at school, across town.

What does suck is I have to drive to Walden, Colorado today (380 miles). Then another 60 or so tomorrow to meet with some BLM officials on get this, drilling oil wells in the field we operate down there!!!!!

$2.199 in Northern Michigan today. My water/sewer bill has gone up as well as my electric and heating oil. Food prices continue to rise and no raise in minimum wage.

Paid $2.179 this morning. Has anyone else noticed that their gas mileage has dropped over the past 2 years? I was averaging about 27 mpg two summers ago, and now I'm lucky if I get 24. I think the gas has more contaminates in it which is building up in my engine.

with my whopping 6 mile (roundtrip) commute the gas isnt a biggy for me, one fill up every 3-4 weeks. Though with Sass back in school full time we feel it, in the last 7 days she's done about 500miles. Oh well, life goes on. Like the Nat'l Geographic article said "its the end of cheap oil".

ENS, I will be biking when the AM temps are above 40 consistently. Its a nice way to start my day, years ago I didnt own a car fopr about 4-5 months so I rode everywhere. At the time I worked 2 jobs and went to the gym 5 days a week, I was as fit as a fiddle......and very tired most all the time.

Working in the refinery/petrochemical field is dangerous work. My prayers and wished are with you guys. Twice at work today the fire alarm went off and both times were false alarms. Normally it doesn't bother me, but today it did. Both times the alarm was canceled before I reached my bunker gear. I hope I never need to use it.
