Just a
Hello, My name is Tim. I new to the site and wanted to tell you all a little about myself. I am 28 and from Asheville, NC, but I am currently in Djibouti, Africa on a humanitarian mission. We also trave to many of the surrounding countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Somalia. It's a really different world than the US. The poverty here is unbeleiveable. I will be here for about 11 more months.

When I get back, I plan to hike the AT in the spring of 2006. If you might be interested in a 5-6 month backpacking adventure, let me know. I would like to start with a group of 5-6 people who have a strong desire to finish. It is a 2174.9 mile trip from Georgia to Maine.

I am Also a big music fan. I love it. Can't get enough. I could by a new car with all of the money I have spent on vinyl in the last 7-8 years. I listen to everything from bluegrass to modern rock bands like Interpol and the yeahyeahyeahs.

Thats enough about me. Tell me about yourself or about things You like about this site.

Thanks,
TJB

Hi Tim. I spent some time in Kenya, also. The area around Mombasa was a huge eye opener for me, in the way of poverty. What organization are you with there?

Hey Tim. Welcome to the board.

You can meet some cool people here - there are several in the NC area. I used to be there, but I moved to CO last fall.

Good luck in Africa. Sounds like interesting work.

welcome. don't put off that walk. If Paul Newman follows through with his plans to make that his last movie its going to be like rush hour traffic on the trail afterwards.

If the AT gets too crowded for ya, come out west and tackle the CDT, Mexico to Canada (NM, CO, WY, ID, MT) just a touch over 3,100 miles.

A couple of questions
1. What is a "TT woman?"
2. What am I getting a pass to, or from, WTF?
3. Where, or how di I post pictures here and what are the Jpeg requirements?

You can either open an album on thebackpacker.com photo albums page or send Phil a thumbnail to post on Phil's photo pages,( see link at lower left of screen).

I think you got away without being called TROLL or given a hard time.

A TT woman is a Trailtalk woman, like myself (except I'm married).
