The U.S. military announced that a Marine died Tuesday from wounds sustained during "enemy action" in Anbar province, west of Baghdad. Since the start of the Iraq war in 2003, there have been 2,629 U.S. military fatalities, approximately the same death toll as the World Trade Center attacks. Seven American civilian contractors of the military also have died in the conflict. And we are approaching 20,000 wounded in Iraq. All these needless deaths are due to George W. Bush's direct action of ordering an illegal war. And then there are the financial costs and loss of liberties and privacy, too.

Far more damage has been done to America by W than any terrorist.

the annual death rate of u.s. soldiers in iraq is 5.79 per 1,000

the US general population (at home) has an annual death rate uf 8.25 per 1,000

if anything, he has saved lives

Uh.............that includes 80 year old people who die of natural causes.

The military personel in Iraq are 18-40 and are physically fit and die from violence, not old age or heart attacks in middle to old age.

What, is death in Iraq a bargain?

Excuses for war-mongering?

Life is cheap...............to you?
MarkO

life is not cheap to me. that is exactly why an all-volunteer army is so necessary to go rescue the tortured lives of iraqis who suffered under the hands of an evil dictator who thought nothing of sending rape squads out to avenge political dissidents

is life cheap to you?

ok, all sarcasm aside, i totally agree with you marko

all life is precious, and we should not have interfered in iraq, nature should always be allowed to take it's course

i strongly believe in the prime directive

According to the CDC, the death rate of 18-40 year olds in 2004 (which would include military personnel) is approximately 1.3/1000

I mentioned "crack".

Actually the administration "volunteered" those guys, the volunteers themselves had no choice of destination.
They can only hope that the commander in chief does not mis-use them.
