I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. Near two years ago my father passed away on a Saturday morning. The Sunday before my son and I had spend the day with him and my mother. He barbequed for us. It means the world to me to remember that day and all the other days that we camped, fished, hunted, and just sat around in the back yard and talked together. I know you have fond memories of your Dad too. Cherish them and he'll be with you in spirit forever.

thanks Nigal, I had an aunt die unexpectedly friday night. The worst part is that in death we have a chance to start fresh with families and make amends. Of course in my family its just a time to be passive agressive. I am okay, we used to be closer but with family and work we didnt see each other as much the older I got. My uncle is a wreck. We have a small family deal on saturday when we will mix her ashes into her gardens (she was an award winning gardening nut!).

Oddly all three of the electricians where I work (myself included) lost kin this past week.

Sorry to hear Birch.

Thanks Birch and Buddur for the reminder. If you are on the outs with a loved one think, if you would be mortified if they died before you had a chance to make amends - do your best to make amends. Imagine you are stuck in the mountains and sure to die and think, what do you wish you had a chance to say to people you love - then say it.

I just lost a great uncle that I was very fond of. He lived and full life and died where he was happiest. His love way playing golf and he died on the course with his family. It is still sad but he had a good life.

I love my family and I love each of you guys to.

I'm sorry birch. Sometimes the hardest part is seeing the survivors in pain.

Hope you're doing ok too Budder. I've thought of you often since your dad's passing.
