How about some details on the trail conditions: How packed is the trail? You said you bare booted it. Is it solid enough that you didn't post hole unless you got off the beaten trail? How deep is the snow? North side? South side? Stream crossings? Bridges, or find your own way? Sounds as though the wildlife is waking from hibernation. See any squirrels and chipmunks? Bunnies? (rabbits, not ski bunnies!!!) Night time temps? Day time temps?

I gotta think about a way to get my bride out in the snow at least once this season. She is a little (okay alot) about winter camping. I think I liked it better than summer time. Skiing is winding down fast, on to new adventures!”

Yep, barebootable, but if you step off the trail, beware. A couple of times I did just that, and my entire leg postholed. Still a TON of snow on the ground up there, at least 4-5 feet. No stream crossings (very skeetah bait friendly). Approached Passaconaway from the north. High temps mid-30's, low temps, teens.

Yes, you guys must join me sometime. Unless I have class or am chaperoning a dance or something like that, I'm always game for a hike.
