So, Pennsy went in the water source or to it?

"Pennsy made coffee and I had a beagle"

Now I know why my neighbor's little girl was crying yesterday. All I heard all day was "where's my Scruffy??"

Gem, I'd say we did 18 miles on Saturday, give or take a few tenths. Great trip report! It was a pleasure welcoming you to my fair city. However, next time, please don't eat my neighbors' pets.

I'm at work but hopefully my pics will be up tonight.

I have it up on my site http://gabriele.com
same thing but a couple corrections to make you all happy dammit!

yeah..I am guessing around 17 miles or so. snow miles feel like more...sooo... I dunn know. I really don't care too much anyway. We hiked a long ways...that's all I know. And I busted my knee was hoping for a gushing bloody wound, but nothin'

hmmm...I thought pennsy did pee in the water. I could've sworn he did.

Pennsy peed in your water bottle, so you poured it on his floor, makes sense.

Oh God...
Can't we confine the peeing to springs? It was much funnier that way...

To all of you hearty souls that braved the cold and snow, I think I can settle your mileage dispute. If you camped at the power lines near the Leroy Smith shelter, you hiked approximately 16 miles on Saturday. It is 16 miles from the shelter to Lehigh Gap. (I didn't want Gemini to be troubled by an incorrect entry in her hiking journal!) LOL!! At any rate, that's an accomplishment for anyone hiking that terrain in the snow and rocks. Great job!
NJPACKER

yeah it would be 16 miles if we would go by the map, but that's where everything started. The map suppose to be way off.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Gemini,
I belong to the Allentown Hiking Club. A few years back, a few people from the club wheeled distances from Port Clinton to DWG and that's where I got my info from (although the wheel could've been off}.

I'm Alive
Missed work yesterday, went to doctor, got good drugs. I still had a great time with you guys. I wanted to get out, and this is the price ya pay when you push it too far.
Just remember: This was the easy hike ! The other choices were harder.
BTW - Great pics !! I really like the rock ledge one with the flag in it.

Gem
You gotta come back and do the other side of the gap !! You cant just do 1/2 the rocks.
Then you can say this trail is "Kaputz" !!
Crazypace

3/29/05

and I would...if it would be a 2 nighter (i guess even more milage then, i don't care)A one nighter is not really worth driving 1400 miles round trip. BUT....I want heat, sun, sweat and all that good stuff this time. No more snow until next year. LOL

hell yeah...I want to do the other side. didn't know there was one.
Gemini

I'll put together a summer trip. we can go north this time and end on the other side of the gap. Then party at my house - pool will be open, grill fired up, and ice cold
booze of every kind. people can crash there for the night then head home next day.
