Tired of cooking, what to eat?

So, I have a great stove and pot, but I am tired of carrying them around, and cooking in general. I usually do only one and two night backpacking trips, and would like some suggestions or comments. What do you all take when you just don't want to cook.

Enertia food. I boil. I must have morning coffe so have to make hot water and take the stove anyways.

Other stuff I like: Dried beef and arby sauce on a tortilla (SODIUM!), peanut butter and sunflower seeds and raisens on a whole wheat bagle. Boboli pizza crust with a packet of sauce and parm cheese. You could even do pepperonis if you like that sort of thing.
I like dry milk and my regular breakfast cereal for breakfast.

cashews, almonds , craisins, crackers and for just a couple of days, i have found that a block of hard/sharp white cheese will last ok if packed way deep in your pack in one of those small insulated foil pouches you get from the grocery store. good with some crackers. Primal Strips are really great and come in lots of flavors, and there is that awesome tuna in a pouch!

Summer sausage, string cheese, bagels are vey filling and keep their form you can make PB&J bagels or put summer sausasge and chees on them. Pasta does not need hot water to cook, put it in your water bottle in the morning and by lunch it should be soft add mayo or itallian dressing or ranch from those packets you get at resturant and you have pasta salad.

hey, has anyone tried the "babybel" cheeses? They come in small servings individually wrapped in wax. VERY yummy... :-)

Won't the pasta taste funny if not cooked? could you cook and dehydrate it?

I still love the rice vermicelli instant noodles found in Asian Grocery stores. They taste better than ramen... :-)

How about the peanut butter filled pretzels? :D Yum! :-)

Jerky is good.. and I like Squid (calamari) jerky as well...

Instant hummus or instant dried beans (the kind that's like re-fried beans) is good on crackers--Thinkbubelz and I prefer Triscuits.... :-)

Babybels and wheat thins are my standard night snack while hiking. Love them! I've taken them on a nine day trip(in the summer) before and they last wonderfully.

Don't want to cook? Try nutritious, delicious, worms, larvae, bugs, and beetles. For variety after a hard day on the trail, snag some pine nuts, too. In fact, everything on the pine tree is edible.

Hey, you said you didn't want to cook.

they have those little baggies in the mre's that heat up your meal. No need for a stove that way. I carry a stove because I need my coffee... lol but i normally only do heat up water, and that's it.

Ewker, I didn't carry a cooler thats for sure! I just left them in their individual wrappers and opened them as I needed them. With cheese you can definately see when it's getting icky. It was just as good day nine as it was day one.

I mix peanut butter and honey, carry it in a Tupperware-like thing and spread it on that dense, dark pumpernicle bread. Yummy!

I carry mixed nuts, turkey jerkey, crackers, and hard cheese. The cheese lasts a long time in a ziplock anywhere in my pack. And oodles of protein bars. I never get tired of eating that stuff.

Pinkbubelz, I didn't know you could rehydrate those beans without boiling water. They're a dinner mainstay for us. And yeah, I eat that cheese, too, but take something larger and with less trash backpacking.
