I could bring up that seafood for less than half that price. If you guys could talk Stove Stomper into going he could get it cheap as well.......

DANG!!! You mean everyone can't just go up to a docked shrimp boat and buy cheap fresh shrimp right off the boat? ;-)
StoveStomper

Yes, but have you ever had shrimp "fresh" from the Tennessee River?

The shrimp will be straight from a boat, but the oysters have to come straight off the interstate.

BTW, I know the gulf has the same problem with red tide as we do here on the East Coast, why isn't your season limited to the non-summer months?

Because most people on the coast (other than damn tourists) are smart enough not to eat oysters in the summer.

From the 1st grade primer in Daphne, Alabama....

"Only eat oysters in a month which contains the letter "R""

I know the "R" thing, but it isn't just a common sense thing here. they are out of season, but the gulf doesn't seem to have a season.

I very very rairly eat oysters.
Those things 'filter' the seawater and keep all kinds of nasty things inside. ;-)

I don't eat catfish. I was fishing for catfish once and the guy I was with kept giving me handfulls of bait. When he finally gave me the bag, i discovered we were fishing with outhouse plugs. Yuck

hyway, you are full of 'outhouse plugs'. ;-)
LOL

I can not believe anyone would use human s**h as fish bait for something they are gonna eat.

exactly, I was not happy about that. Even the thought of eating a fish that would think they were worth eating makes me ill.

Hey, Crosscut - - - -
I made a small plastic sign today about 30" x 15" to claim the TT area that can be either be hung between two ropes or a stake that can be pounded into the ground (don't know how hard or rocky the ground is there). I will be there Friday before noon and hunt you down.... errr.... i mean look you UP !! LOL.
Having never been to that part of the country before, I'm not familiar with the layout other than the map here. Give me some info of what/who to look for and I'll get the sign to you.

I've seen and smelled those things being made.
I don't eat those either.

trekker, when you come thru the gate at the entrance to teh campground drive straight down the road in front of you. Don't turn left toward the parking area. The large fire pit area will be on your left (after you drive past the raod to the parking area). There will be short section with woods on both sides. The first clearing you get to on the right will be where we will be looking to camp. (this will be maybe 150 yards from the entrance gate.)

More than likely, I will be bunking at another spot, Iron Horse maybe. I just like my sleep when it gets dark thirty.

Make a Splash...
Someone should make a sign with directions to the TT "neighborhood" near the main entrance so I can find all y'all when I get there Friday evening...

something like....
Trail Talkers
Est. 1991
Unincorporated Limits
Pop. 3376
Mayor: Matt the Webmaster
Maximum speed is 2 MPH and
strictly enforced !!

?????????????????????????????

something to think about .... of a more permanant nature. Easy to carry, setup and store. Or whoever has it and can't make it to a meet.... it can be easily mailed to someone that can.

Take a vote on the contents and I'll make it. Not for the Trail Days event.... but after I get back. Got too much to do here now.
