What's Your Favorite Flower?View Messages“Sativa or Indica” 6:51:23 PM 4/02/05 “Sounds like Currahee and his lady need to come visit! : ) The only thing is Woodinville, where Columbia and St Michelle are, isn't really where the grapes are grown. They are grown primarily in Yakima on the other side of the Cascades. It's a few hours outside of Seattle. I have a friend who is a winemaker for Hogue. I love the Hogue Genesis wines. Yummy! last edited: 4/05/05 4:09:33 PM” 4:07:42 PM 4/05/05 “Venus Flytrap is one of my faves” 4:13:07 PM 4/05/05 “Hogue makes one of the few Chardonnays I like. I can't really remember the reds. It's been a few years since I had one. I'd love to bring Kamper out there. We'll be knockin on your door if we do.” 4:13:34 PM 4/05/05 “Dicentra ;)” 4:13:45 PM 4/05/05 “Btw, I tried the Toblerone dark. It was yummy. I really enjoyed the chocolate part. But I could have done without the nougat and nuts. If they took that chocolate and put it in a bar, I'd really love it. The Toblerone shape makes it hard to have little nibbles. Excellent chocolate.” 4:17:28 PM 4/05/05 “DDX, are you brown nosing? LOL! Currahee, the Genesis Chardonnay is very nice.” 4:22:35 PM 4/05/05 “The one worn by gf behind her left ear. :) No gf right now - flower luvahs anyone? Errr....Anyone female!” 4:33:25 PM 4/05/05 “1) I love flowers! (and they are especially nice if they are perennials! In particular I love: Irises (all shapes and sizes, particularly pink or purple ones) Roses - Light pink or hot pink and ONLY if they are fragrant--I love the spicy roses (what's up with scentless roses?!!!). Lilacs Lavender Peonies (hot pink or light pink) The big, dinner-plate sized oriental poppies (in light pink, peachy pink or Red) Crabapple blossoms are gorgeous when cut in the spring.... And Daffodils (the fancy types with the ruffles are very pretty! They don't smell very good, but they do look pretty! 2) Wine: love the muscats and ice wine, I also like sparkling wines (asti). White Merlot is nice.... The Sulfites in Red wine generally give me a headache, so I stay away from them.... :-) 3) I like chocolate when it's mixed with nuts. Dark chocolate is sometimes too bitter, but it really depends upon the brand of chocolate as well. Can't stand the cheap, waxy stuff! (I am not a fan of white chocolate--too sweet for me!) last edited: 4/05/05 4:51:50 PM” 4:50:14 PM 4/05/05 “1) phlox, honeysuckle & daffodils 2) syrah 3) bittersweet i'll be expecting some presents in the mail soon, people! chop-chop, no time to waste.” 5:03:43 PM 4/05/05 “Ha! Finally someone who is backwards like my friend Jill! Most people can drink white and not red. But pink! you and my friend Jill. Whites set her asthma off even. I'll have to tell her! btw, peonies are so lovely. : )” 7:05:11 PM 4/05/05 “How could I forget peonies, but only the ones that are fragrant. I should add in roses. I have about 11 rose bushes, and two of them have an incredible aroma.” 11:38:44 PM 4/05/05 “Hawthorn blossoms that line my front lawn - they'll be out soon because they're the first. Next come the wild plum blossoms in my back yard and then the apple blossoms all round my place. Best moments are sitting on the terrasse of my village pub across the road from Paul Lussier's orchard when all the trees are in bloom. The smell of apple blossoms and dark beer while admiring (without staring) the beautiful women (of all ages) without their winter coats - at last!” 12:54:31 PM 4/06/05 “Hey Twinks, did you determine that you liked the Pinot Noir after sampling at least 37 varieties in a Manhattan restaurant? sorry, couldn't resist!! hee hee” 2:39:05 PM 4/06/05 “Gremlin-- that sounds great. There's nothing better than the sweet smell of flowers in the spring... Unfortunately, I have allergies to grass, so I can't smell very many things unless I'm pumped full of Claritin... LOL probably why I like Spicy scented flowers and spicy foods as well! :-) Bland is just Blah....I won't buy a rose bush UNLESS it is a scented one.... I have one rosebush that I got for $5 at a K-mart one year-- that little bush has the most awesome flowers-- double-petalled, old-fashioned blooms. When I fertilize it, the flowers are about 4 inches across and so fragrant that a single flower will scent a whole room! Funny thing--I have no idea what variety it is, or its name... I do know that I ONLY buy roses that are grown on their own root stock... I have another rose bush that has creamy white petals that turn a hot pink when exposed to sunlight. The blooms can be up to 5 inches across! :-)” 3:30:48 PM 4/06/05 “Awwww... DDX luvs me! not that he answers his email!” 11:49:33 AM 4/08/05 “Indian Paintbrush Mariposa Lilies Leopard Lilies Orchids Dogwoods Sand Verbena Desert Mallow Oh, heck, I like 'em all :D http://www.tarol.com/ca_wildflowers.html” 11:55:28 AM 4/08/05 “Pink, I have allergies too (and love spicy food) and I don't smell that well, but the blossoms are great to look at. I am in constant struggle against wild roses (eglantine) that keep threaten ing to take everything over. along with blacberry brambles.” 2:04:07 PM 4/08/05 “Azaleas. ”2:37:10 PM 4/08/05 “Those are from the Azalea bush on the corner of my house. ”2:38:36 PM 4/08/05 “Pillsbury Gold, bleached, pre-sifted.” 4:03:12 PM 4/08/05 “Deoredx - here are some wild azaleas that were growing all along Redwood Creek in the largest sequoia grove last June :) last edited: 4/08/05 4:24:54 PM” 4:24:04 PM 4/08/05 “pink, I inherited the rose bushes I have. There are a few with major aromas and all different from each other, then there are a few I have that are pretty, but no scent. If I were to start my garden from scratch, I would only have scented roses too. The unscented ones are very pretty and a large size, so I don't want to dig them up.” 11:20:56 PM 4/08/05 “DeoreDX you would love my grandparents house, they have around 1000 Azaleas around there house its amazing to see them all in bloom.” 9:30:00 AM 4/09/05 “Bloodroot, because it is the first to bloom in late winter.” 7:08:40 PM 4/09/05 “lipstick-- I was doing some spring cleaning in my garden and noticed quite a few rose hips.... Might try to plant them and see if I can get some roses of my own--of course they'll probably be a mixture of my existing roses, but at least they should be fragrant!” 2:25:46 PM 4/11/05 “lipstick-- I was doing some spring cleaning in my garden and noticed quite a few rose hips....
