For drugs, I don't do business with large drug chain stores. There's a local pharamacy I go to and the owner is great. I'd rather give him my business than any large chain store. Fair prices and great service.

Guess I could do the same. But rather than fill out forms and mail them with receipts to my insurance company. I just stop by Walgreen's, where my insurance gets me 80% off my pills. Expensive pill requests I send to a mailorder place where my insurance pays for all except a $30 charge for a 90 day supply.

Walgreen's has always been good to me and they can locate my file in their computers across the country.

The guy is a #&%!$head. There is one non-chain pharmacy in our area. Is it more expensive?

My mouth is really numb right now. LOL!

Posting the response is only fair:

Dear Mr. ****,

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for bringing to our
attention the experience you had in our store. Please accept this
letter as a formal apology for the lack of customer service extended to
you during your last visit.

It is our concern to serve our customers in a professional manner with
care and consideration. I have notified the Area Pharmacy Supervisor,
**** **** of your comments. Please be assured that steps will be
taken to prevent a reoccurrence of this situation. We hope that you
will give CVS another chance to prove that we are dedicated to customer
service.

Thank you again for making us aware of this circumstance. We value our
customers and hope you will allow us to continue to serve you in the
future. Should you have any additional concerns, please feel free to
contact us and we will do our best to address them.

Sincerely,

***** *****

Maybe. Some companies find the concept difficult. Like Mountain Hardware.

skip the corporate complaint and go directly to what ever governing body regulates and monitors Pharmacists...they'll take that more seriously

CVS around here is notorious for two things and two things only. Poor service and ghetto prices. I won't buy a stick of gum from them unless there are no other options. There are no local pharmacies left in this area. One either deals with a chain pharmacy or the dreaded "W-Mart". Pick your poison.

You know, thrifty, i was considering that. The pharmacist provided me with pure diphenhydramine and lidocaine.

But I don't want to get someone fired. And I'm thinking his supervisor will emphasize the potential consequences of his slackness.

sometimes that's what it takes to get people to realize that what they are doing is dangerous

When it comes to people who do not pay appropriate attention to someone else's health... I say get them fired. They are a menace to the public as well as a bad representative of their profession.

Everyone has a bad day. But that's the reason every medication dispensing system I have ever seen has multiple checks and balances. It sounds like the system is bust.

Further your letter would not "get them fired." Their own incompetence and lack of care is what accomplishes that.

I know. But as I like to remind everyone, I worked in a GLP facility for 4 years. I saw a dozen or so people canned and was interviewed for a few of them. I would say one of them deserved it.

edit: My letter may in fact do him in if he is in violation of GLP/GMP and/or he has a history.

I've got a message from the area pharmacy supervisor. She wants to talk. I skeered.

If she was going to do anything more than get your story first hand it wouldn't have been her that contacted you, it would have been a corporate mouthpiece. Sounds to me like you got the best venue to share your concern. As well as your concern for the pharmacist's job.

You would think. She thought the call would placate me and then was shocked that I said anything other than "thanks for calling". Oh well. I'll look for a private pharmacy.

Good News!
mountaingear.com

yesterday i ordered some climbing gear there - they had a better price than my local store INCLUDING the shipping.

Today, I got a phone call from Carol - they wanted to check and verify the order since my shipping address was different from the billing addres - said they've had a lot of fraud problems. I can appreciate that.

A few minutes later, I got another call from Carol - seems she noticed that half my order was on backorder and not expected till the end of the month - she called because we'd talked about maybe expedited shipping, so she wondered if I wanted to switch items (brands) or do something different due to the delay.

Turns out I cancelled the order - my local store was out of stock too (which is why I looked online anyway).

It was nice to be given the option - I'll shop there again, they seem to be paying attention to what's going on!

They have great customer service. I've only had occasion to order two items from them but I'd definately check with them next time I'm looking for gear. I got a phone call because our crampons were backordered. Very considerate.
