Ocala NF or Apalachicola NF along the FT are your best bets.

April is very near the end of warm weather and quickly moving into stinking hot and humid.

I have decided to hike the East Loop & Kitching Creek Loop in the Dickinson State park. has anyone hiked this trail before?

Show us the pics. I'm yearning for some snow-capped peaks and lakes filled with golden trout.

Where did you hike in Florida? I moved up to Georgia last year from the panhandle of Florida. There's a lotta great wilderness there.

The sand gets most folks pretty badly.
It tore up a bunch of the group in Ocala this Feb.

What if . . .
Can you hike barefoot in sugar sand? Would that avoid blisters?

Sure, but good luck getting all the sand off your feet and between your toes when it's time to put shoes on again.

You could, but we do have cacti and other little nasties like scorpions in the sandhills.

Take off the boots for beach hiking.
