Originally were leaning toward steering clear of thorofare (only 3 of us) and hitting Belcher River trail with sidetrips-don't want to be bear bait and compass skills lacking. The Bison Fold a Bowl

Lightweight 1 quart bowl. When not in use, it folds inside itself and zippers shut. Clips to belt loop or pack.

I'm doing some miles on the AT north of Reading and Allentown, PA, about 25 miles over the weekend. It's actually a pretty cool section of the AT, Hawk Mtn Road to Lehigh Gap. Lehigh Gap is very cool.”

“Hey man, do you own crampons and an ice axe?”

“Not yet, but I assume I'll be acquiring such equipment at some point in the near future. I guess I'll be needing snowshoes too.”

“you'll want that stuff by winter for sure, you know, around late September or so.

If you had crampons and an axe we could take the Lost Rat Coulier up Grays next month.

That and one other snowclimb up at coluier (sp) that i'd like to do this summer.

“The Badlands trip should be fun, even if lizs is planning it. I'm probably gonna be headed up the Friday prior to Labor Day weekend with a car full of some kids. We're tentatively looking at a midnightish arrival to a car campground at the Park. If you wanna follow us up there, it'd be cool - you could ride with us, but you'd probably have to hang on to the raingutters, lol.

We're probably more in the carcamp/dayhike mode for that weekend, or perhaps a short and easy overnight hike. Carrying water for my crew is somewhat of a limiting factor on a real backpack trip.”

“I'm thinking, Badlands would be great, but I'd prefer Wind Cave, either way that whole area is great. Lot's o' Bison out there!”

“I've never been to either one - lets do BOTH! We'd have all day Sat and Sun and still Monday morning to go see Mt. Rushmore before driving home.”

I really have no idea when I'll be out there, maybe Christmas? I might be out to Lake George for work at some point, so maybe the ADK's sometime.

You should try some snowboarding this winter.”
