Spring conditions can be tough. I remember a tough slog off of Boot Spur. You had to ride the ride of packed snow all the way down. It was about 3 feet high or more.

If you slipped off you were up to your thigh in soft crap. Or worse .. ..you ended up straddling the ridge. the other hook was that the packed ridge of snow put you up in the branches .. . .many of which were sharp broken stubs . .. . .so as you boot skied down the ridge, trying to satay on it, and looking at your feet . . .. .the stubs of branches would catch at you.
