Took the family and some friends to Stone Door (South Cumberlands, Tn.). The weather was awesome!!! Our friends were from Colorado and they were very impressed with the park and the trails! Have a look and enjoy!

I would chose Savage Falls. (2.2 miles) Great camp site with metal fire pit grill, privy house, and 100 yrds from the falls. The only problem with hiking and camping now is we have had a very mild winter and the ticks are already out of control in N. Ala and South Tenn.

Love that shot on the 300-ft high overhang. That thing looks like its ready to fall any minute now.

And that shot of the pot pie made me hungry.

And it was GOOD!!! It was real easy to make. Prepared the chicken and gravy at home. Poured into the dutch oven and placed the batter on top. set in the fire and put some coals on top and in no time.. HOT CHICKEN POT PIE!!! Oh I wish I had some now!! : )

SCRA is my favorite short notice getaway. It is well maintained and hardly ever crowded.

Just be careful on those rocks, esp. with young children. BTW there are hugh rattlesnakes under those rocks at the overlooks. TWRA did a show on them not too long ago, and I thought: How many times have I sat right down on that very rock!

Boy that brings back memories! That looks to be about the point where I almost stumbled and fell.

Here are some of mine from last fall. I didn't have the rugrats with me, so we actually got to hike around a good bit. Beautiful park. Small, but beautiful.
