“clean up the camp site (if applicable). Whites takes on such abuse from the hoards of people that occupy it.

I would certainly join you, especially if there are bikini clad jilly janes present, but, I will be returnin from the Rockies that sunday.

Have fun, and look for Stikmon, Khatru and Dutch Oven Dave on the Points throughout the summer season. My first trip to the Points is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend.”

“this river is monitored by rangers. They hide in places and pop out to issue heavy fines to violators.

Do NOT bring glass on the river.
Do NOT do drugs on the river.
Do NOT fish without a license.
Do NOT litter on my river.

Each of the above infractions can and more than likely result in a $1000.00 fine.

I've seen them pull people over and make the weekend miserable...and thank goodness for that, because this is a very great place which is not like other Missouri rivers. There are less drunken billybobs and jilly janes on this river than anywhere else I've been. There is virtually NO trash on this river and the gravel bars are in great condition.”

“The river is nice and clean we have been going with the same group for the last 6 years. That and the slow trafic in the early part of the season is why we go to this river. The campsites are nice. It is just an all around nice place to go.. never seen a ranger on the river in the last 6 years we have been there. But I am sure they are there. we behave ourselves so I guess no reason to see a ranger..”

“trust me, they are there. Dave and I talk to them all the time, and Khatru sniffs them out when there hiding in the woods. I can't wait to get on the Points. I think it'll be memorial day weekend...at least thats what I'll be aiming for.”

“because you originally put up May 6, that's 2 weeks, if your 3 weeks, then that puts you at May 13, which "could" be possible...looks like its possible for the 13th/14/15th. The way I generally do this is to put in at Greer on Friday night and float down to the first gravel bar, racing the sunset, then set up Friday's B&G. Then wait on Sat am for the participants to catch up to me, then float down and camp NOT at Whites. There are numerous locations to camp, which far outclass camping at a camping ground, then finish floating down to Riverton on Sunday. Usually, we are off river @4pm, or so.”

“If you'd have filled out your profile and posted an email, I'd be emailing you right about now, I'll help if I can, but I'm gone tomorrow and your trip will be happnin before I return....keep your eye out on the river for some dude named dave. He reclines in a lazyboy recliner and never looks like he's paddlin very hard. He has been known to float in a 20' barge, known as "pappa's yacht", or a red mad river.
