I was in Camp Nelson all weekend :)
The owners of a lovely mountain cabin want to trade the use of their cabin for some framed 16x20's and 20x24's of the local area. My family and I had a blast up there....while they were sleeping in, I would go out and try to capture the "unseen" Camp Nelson :)

Windy, lol, that could be one of about 100 different places in the Camp Nelson area! But one of the best hidden places, IMHO, is along Belknap Creek where there are large waterfalls and pictographs :)”

This isn't hidden,...just over looked :)
It's on the inlet to the little pond at the R.V. park. You do have to scramble through some blackberry vines to see it from this angle though ;)”

“SCICON is near Springville. At the far end of town take the Balch Park Road then in 3 miles take the Bear Creek Road and you'll pass right by it.”

The place is always crawling with 6th graders :) Every year all over the San Joaquin Valley sixth graders start selling candy bars to help fund their week long field trip to Scicon. I went when I was in sixth grade too. Our group got to spend the night in the observatory one night when I was there because a comet was passing through at the time :)”

“There were trillions of tidy tips out at Carrizo Plain National Monument a few weeks ago, literally covering the entire plain, mountain range to mountain range, along with goldfields, phacelia, poppies, fiddleneck, and others... I've never seen such an abundance! I also saw them at Joshua Tree National Park last month.

“Speaking of goldfields... A drive along the Caliente-Bodfish Road in a very rural part of California (where the Sierra Nevada merge into the Tehachapi Mountains) will yield many fabulous views of these little flowers covering hundreds and thousands of acres!

Embear...these were taken off of Highway 58
between Bakersfield and San Luis Obispo.
Windmill is just before the Carrizo Plain and the others were shot on the Shell Creek Road (West of Carrizo).

“Beautiful Mike. The season has been good to the location there. I went to Table Top on the 15th and it was a dud. Very dissapointed. There's more wildflowers on the fields in Folsom than Table top right now.”
