I've been following her career for well over 10 years now, when she was unknown on the music circuit. I think the movie Brother Where Art Thou, helped propel Bluegrass to the mainstream. Even Ricky Scraggs had to make "country" songs to make a living, but his roots were bluegrass. Her real early stuff is a little hard to find, but awesome.

About 10 years for me too.
There was a 60 minutes or 20/20 interview of her when she was about 19. I believe she was discovered by Doc Watson at a fiddle contest at age 13.

Just found a bonus AKUS desktop on their website.

The newest and the oldest of AK's collection are missing in mine. This is not helping me keep the money in my pocket.

PS
While it may seem this is all about Alison, it is not. Union Station is one of the tightest and most amazingly talented bands I've seen.

10-4.

while you may n ot like their sound, or the type of music, you won't find another group of musicians that is any better.

anyone of them could chose who they wanted to play with.

i've seen them a few times, and have loved every second of it.

For Bluegrass lovers, a good album to check out is called Chambergrass by Berline, Crary, & Hickman.

well, this thread inspired me to burn my only Alison CD to my hard drive for the ipod.

jogging to some bluegrass should be good.

i can't believe CMT had alison krauss as one of the top 20 sexiest singers.

i'm a big fan of her voice, her violin, her band, her music...

but sexy she is not!

Couldn't disagree more...
To me, sexy isn't just about looks but go take a look at the photos from the sleeve of Lonely Runs Both Ways and try to tell me she's not. Her voice and talent just seal the deal. Alison is hot.
