I have never hiked the gorge before, but I am thinking about planning a trip there. If anyone has been there and has and has some info or resources, let me know.

RRG is one of my favorite places to go. If you are interested in joining us, there is a group of us going there over Mother's Day weekend. Some of us will have kids with us, some of us will not. Check out the trips page for info.

LOTS of people from here have been there.

Here's the last trip I was on that was there: http://www.anycities.com/user/towndawg/rrg.htm

And I should be able to scrounge you up a link to a map too.

I'm not the expert though. I'll let those folks chime in.

Thanks, I have a place in eastern Kentucky too but I'll be here working in Georgia that weekend. I need to find some topo maps and inks to plan my trip. I usually hike alone, but wouldn't mind hiking a group sometime.

Thanks for the info, I'm driving to KY tonight so I think I'll check it out from the road and plan my trip for next month. Trying to get my son outta the house and hike with me.

If you are going to be close to Slade, stop at the Shell Station to buy a good topo map.

Or call the Daniel Boone NF office (606) 745-3100 or the Stanton District office (606) 663-2852
