She first told her story to the Wall Street Journal in XXXXXX.

THE PERP, through his attorneys shortly after the Journal report appeared, claimed the allegations were false. But THE VICTIM, in her interview, said the PERP assaulted her, then "casually" asked her to put ice on her swollen bottom lip he had bitten during the alleged attack.

"Then he … put on his sun glasses and walked out the door," TEH VICTIM said.

She went on to say she told a friend – A FRIEND– who "found me" right after the incident "that, I was sitting there crying and so upset at the time… I felt like the next person coming through the door to get rid of the body. I absolutely couldn't believe what had happened to me."

TEH FRIEND later said in an interview she found THE VICTIM in a state of shock, her lip swollen, mouth bruised, and her pantyhose torn at the crotch.

During the Fox News broadcast last night, TEH VICTIM said she had told up to five people of the incident within hours or days after it occurred.

"You begged him to stop?" Hannity asked.

"Yes," THE VICTIM replied.

Later in the interview, Hannity brought up the fact that THE VICTIM had waited some 20 years before reporting the incident. He asked if she regretted waiting so long, and she replied that she did not.

"I don't regret [it] because I don't think it would have been received any better at that time than it is now," she said. "I don't think that's anything anybody wants to hear, that the attorney general of the state ################ did something like this. … It was my word against his."”

A powerful lawmaker who undermined a proposed commuter-rail project with a sleazy amendment to last year’s budget bill now faces drunk-driving charges. So one subscriber to the Citizens for Progressive Transit listserv makes a reasonable observation: “Now, if we had better transit choices Rep. [Ben] Harbin, you wouldn’t have to drive after having a few.”

Harbin’s the guy who snuck a last-minute amendment into last year’s budget bill requiring commuter-rail funding to face a separate vote, outside the normal budget process. It was a particularly sleazy move because Harbin chairs the powerful Appropriations Committee, meaning that he could have inserted the amendment earlier and should have done so more openly. His “Great Train Robbery” cost Georgia taxpayers $87 million in federal funds that had been set aside for the Atlanta-Lovejoy commuter line.

Harbin, who’s also been a deacon at his Baptist church in Evans, Ga., and has gotten stellar ratings from the Christian Coalition, allegedly rammed a utility pole early Sunday morning on Memorial Drive near Oakland Cemetery. Geez, Ben, there’s a MARTA station right near there.

I received a tip from someone today that encouraged me to "dig around lobbyist Emily Ham in regards to a certain DUI that happened recently." Obviously, the only DUI that comes to mind that could possibly involve a lobbyist is the one involving state Rep. Ben Harbin.

Using the information that was provided over at Tondee's Tavern which included the following...

I got a tip today that the real reason Rep. Harbin may have been cruising around all loaded in downtown Atlanta, far far away from home near Augusta, was that he "may have been" visiting his lobbyist on the side. I was given a name.

I'm not going to go there yet.

What I know about Lobbyist "X"?

* The lobbyist has wined and dined the appropriations committee
* Nearly ever month Harbin shows up on her disclosure reports
* Happens to lobby the sector that seems like Harbin's "pet sector"

...I was able to research the disclosure forms of Emily Ham and here's what I found:

Between January 2006 and May 2007, lobbyist Emily Ham spent a combined $986.00 on Ben Harbin and the House Appropriations Committee including nine meals on Rep. Harbin himself.

Emily Ham is a lobbyist for the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses. According to his bio, Ben Harbin "has been honored by the Pediatrician Association with the Legislator of the Year Award in 2000; and the Medical Association of Georgia honored him with their Eagle Award in 2000."

It is all pretty much His word against a Cop. He pled so he could get on his flight home...or thats his story.


The first question is are there any possiblities that this was a young cop trying to get some arrests?

What would happen if this is a cop who knows in an Airport restroom there are good possibilities that the people are going to plea out (easy win right?). So the cop figures he will get away with it. Make the charge...and let it go.

Well you are in the bathroom...as you exit the stall the cop arrests you, takes you to interrogation but you figure you have time so you decide to fight the charge.

You get an attorney, and a week before court a friend calls you and says, "Hey, that cop, Officer Smith, he has been having an affair with my sister for like three years and they just broke up. In fact in one case he was ASKED if he had ever had an affair and he said NO!"

WOW...this is something in the case this will be his word (he is as an officer given a bit more veracity in court) against yours. So you go to the prehearing, your attorney asks the judge if he can bring up a witness who will impeach the veracity of the officer by showing he is "less than trustworthy" in other cases. Now this is a great tactic it may discredit the officer and let you walk free.

The judge looks at the evidence and says, "NAH, this is about sex, we can't use it."

Larry Flynt keeps Vitter in his crosshairs

Hustler publisher Larry Flynt took a fresh jab on Tuesday at scandal-plagued Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), administering a lie detector test to a New Orleans prostitute who contends that she and Vitter had a relationship in 1999.

Vitter has denied extramarital relations with Wendy Cortez, who appeared with Flynt in Los Angeles to address reporters. Flynt said the lie detector offers 99.9 percent proof that Cortez, whose ties to Vitter have long set tongues wagging in Louisiana, is telling the truth.

“I don’t want him to apologize to me. I want him to apologize to everybody that he’s lied to,” Cortez said. She referred to Vitter’s wife, also named Wendy, who famously said she would emulate scorned wife Lorena Bobbitt if Vitter were ever unfaithful.

Flynt said his investigators continue to scrutinize the records of the so-called “D.C. Madam” for leads on congressional sex scandals, promising more revelations to come. Two national news anchors have turned up on the Madam’s phone list, Flynt said, but he would not reveal their names because “they’re not casting a vote.”

Ex-Ney aide Volz gets probation for role in Abramoff lobbying scandal

Neil Volz, the former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio), walked out of court Wednesday without as much as an ankle bracelet.

Volz, who last year pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit honest services fraud for his role in the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal, received only probation as punishment, a reward for cooperating with the government and serving as the lynchpin in prosecuting others.

Ken Hendricks, a high school dropout who made himself into a billionaire, died early Friday after falling through a hole in a floor on an addition being built at his Rock County home.

Hendricks, the 66-year-old owner of ABC Supply Co. Inc. in Beloit, suffered massive head injuries and died in surgery at a hospital in Rockford, Ill.

Rock County Sheriff's Department Commander Troy Knudson said Hendricks and his wife, Diane, were having construction done at their home near Afton, between Beloit and Janesville. The couple had returned home about 10 p.m. Thursday night and Ken Hendricks walked out to inspect the progress of the construction work.

"There were blue tarps that were covering open areas that were nailed in place by two by fours and it appears he fell through one of those tarps," Knudson said.

Hendricks fell more than 10 feet to the basement and struck his head, authorities said. No underlying medical condition figured in the accident, said Sue Fiduccia, Winnebago County (Ill.) coroner.

His death has saddened many in Beloit, where Hendricks has been the once-struggling city's key benefactor - bringing in companies, creating jobs, fostering the arts and restoring abandoned industrial buildings.

"It's almost a matter of what hasn't he done," said Ron Nief, public affairs director at Beloit College and a friend of Hendricks. "I think probably the most important thing he's done for Beloit is inspire."

Hendricks, who grew up in Janesville and left high school at 17, built ABC Supply into a nationwide distributor of roofing, siding, windows and other building products. The company has 390 locations, 6,000 employees and about $3 billion a year in sales.

Forbes magazine recently estimated Hendricks' net worth at $3.5 billion, making him the 91st-richest American.

Hendricks started his business career as a part-time roofer, spotting potential customers as he drove a utility repair truck during the day. By age 30 he had 500 roofers working for him and was handling jobs at military bases and large stores. He also invested in real estate and, in 1982 with his wife, Diane, started ABC Supply.

He owned controlling interest in 16 other companies, several of them firms that Hendricks either brought to Beloit or got started there.

Hendricks, who decades ago moved his business base to Beloit because he felt he couldn't get financial backing in his native Janesville, restored the abandoned, run-down Fairbanks-Morse complex and situated ABC's headquarters there. He bought the vacant buildings of the defunct Beloit Corp. and installed a variety of new businesses there, along with a museum featuring sculpture fashioned from old papermaking machinery patterns Hendricks found in storage.

"It's kind of unusual to have a champion of the stature of a Ken Hendricks," Beloit city manager Larry Arft said. "Communities do have their leading citizens who support philanthropy and the arts in those communities, but this was kind of an extraordinary relationship."

Surviving Hendricks are his wife and their seven children.
