Spirit: He is a better person then a lot of people I know who promote hatred towards others just because they can't understand anothers lifestyle.

mtnsteve - For once I agree with sarge, I feel the same way about Neo Con Republicans and many Christians.

mtnsteve - Where did I say I hated Christians?

Sarge - Did you read what you were replying to? Idiot.

I agree TT
Of course they can, thats why I said many, not all. Thats also why I said I understand, but disagree...not hate.

Sarge is the one putting words like hate, in peoples mouths.

I heard your "for once I agree with sarge" part. That's not the part where you said you "feel the same way" which in this case means you feel hatred toward Christians.

If not, please tell us what the "feel" means in you "feel the same way about Neo Con Republicans and many Christians".

"Maybe they do understand, and they still think it's wrong."

I feel the same way.

I understand how they think and I still think they are wrong.

Some Statistics
Worldwide

Approximately 47 percent of the 36.1 million adults living with HIV/AIDS worldwide are women

Worldwide, more than 80 percent of all adult HIV infections have resulted from heterosexual intercourse

Mother-to-child (vertical) transmission has accounted for more than 90 percent of all HIV infections worldwide in infants and children.

USA

Approximately 40,000 new HIV infections occurred in the United States in 1998, about 70 percent among men and 30 percent among women. Of these newly infected people, half are younger than 25 years of age

Of new infections among women in the United States, CDC estimates that approximately 75 percent of women were infected through heterosexual sex and 25 percent through injection drug use. Of newly infected women, approximately 64 percent are black, 18 percent are white, 18 percent are Hispanic, and a small percentage are members of other racial/ethnic groups

Of new infections among men in the United States, CDC estimates that approximately 60 percent of men were infected through homosexual sex, 25 percent through injection drug use, and 15 percent through heterosexual sex. Of newly infected men, approximately 50 percent are black, 30 percent are white, 20 percent are Hispanic, and a small percentage are members of other racial/ethnic groups

Weird argument w/ Sarge and MtnSteve looking at the sequence it's clear that MtnSteve was not acknowledging any hate. He didn't say he had experienced everything Sarge felt for homosexuals when he thought of some Neo-Cons and Christians, just that one thought (he feels he understands them and still thinks they are wrong).

“Spirit - Why do you assume "they can't understand anothers lifestyle"? Maybe they do understand, and they still think it's wrong.”

OK - I see where Sarge is coming from, the discussion of understanding and misunderstanding did start with Spirit Coyotes post about "hatred." I think the key to the misunderstanding here is that "feelt he same way" was very non-specific, and it wasn't unreasonable for Sarge to link it to Spirit Coyotes first statement.

It was unrealistic to keep the point up after I said repeatedly that is was not correct.

I suspect that anyone else here would have said at some point, OK I misunderstood what you meant and moved on, but sarge keeps arguing the point...like I didn't know what I meant, but he did.

Hey sarge
You are such an arrogant ass that you cant bring yourself to admit you may have misunderstood my comment (perhaps I wasn't clear). Instead you pick it apart like I was really trying to say I hate Christians and Neo Con's and only changed my mind when confronted by you...now that's just stupid, even for you.

You have the nerve to imply that I actually meant one thing when I have told you time and time again that's not what I meant

You aren't interested in clearing up a misunderstanding (no matter who's at fault) your only concern is being right.

Fine. Then just answer the question. Why do you say "you feel the same about (them)" then?

You called me an ass based on the fact that I read that and commented on it.

If you said something you should not have said, then just admit it and apologize. I admit we all make mistakes, but you have not explained yourself and insist I'm an ass for linking you to that statement.

So, please, explain the statement or else apologize for mischaracterizing me.

I have answered the question at least twice, I wont repeat it a third time just because you don't get it.

I called you an ass because even though I have explained time and time again what I meant, you keep arguing the point.

I don't like it when someone puts words in my mouth, then when I correct them on it, have them continue to argue the point. If you did that to my face, it would be much more interesting....and the words I would chose would be much more descriptive than ass. I definitely would have enjoyed this conversation much more face to face....I do miss my "darkside" days.

If you want to keep this crap up, feel free, I wont respond to any of your posts here. This thread was posted because of a great day skiing and you, bacpak and even I, have turned it into a Fuego thread.

I suggest you go take a hike.

I think it's clear that you did not. You clearly said you feel the same way about neocons and christians. The phrase "same way about" clearly refers to a previously made remark. The only remark that that could reference is the one regarding hatred toward others because of their lifestyle.

So go ahead, ignore the question. Everybody, including yourself, knows you messed up. Maybe you didn't read what you were responding to and didn't mean to say you hate Christians, but at least admit that you called me an "ass" without provoking. I was simply responding to what you did write, even if it was not what you thought you were writing.

I cannot be responsible for your inability to comprehend.

PS - "anytime" from above, will have to be after this month. I have an acl replacement of Thursday due to a boxing injury and will have to be out of commission for awhile. Thanks for understanding. You're a swell guy. Oh, and you should see the other guy. LOL

Hey, do you have any current info on trail conditions up Stuart Fork or Swift Creek? I suspect snow still around 6500'. The Trinity Alps Trails and Road Report is kinda sparse. I heard about the slide on Canyon Creek trail.

Sarge your comment there supports steve's opinion of yourself. Trinity means a group of three, in my case it's: water, rocks and trees. I sailed the sea, I've climbed a few rocks and my home has always been amoung the trees. The name was given to me my wife in the dim histroy of the 60's. So if you find any of that ironic you need to talk to your new pope.

Steve, I haven't been up Stuart yet but I know Swift. You Can get to the TH, after that it's fun. Main trail is open and wet untill just above the stream from Twin Lks then the snow starts, Parker Cr is fun to cross and by the time you hit Foster Cabin its all snow. As for the Granite side snow starts just after the bridge and well.....
Snow is nonsupportive, postholing is an all day affair. Snow shoes work. Expect first snow by 4k' and be knee deep by 5k' in most areas. Slide up Canyon was last year but I expect it is still moving. For some idea of temps and snow go to the CDEC site. Deadfall still has 6'

Trinity is not "GOD" it is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Sergeant is a rank and does not repersent any thing, and I find that ironic.

Coyote, yes the alps are home, but its still water, rocks and trees. For a good walk try the pull out of the S.Fk. Salmon to Cariboo.

I'm going to assume you are trolling here. The "Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit" are one, one is God, therefore the Trinity is God. You've got to be kidding at this point. Why are you even arguing that? If anything represents "God", it's the Trinity. You're actually arguing that, but you equate "sarge" with God? Get real.

Tango's stats put into a spreadsheet show
New AIDS cases in the US

42% Homosexual men
25% IV drug users of both sexes
22% Hetero women
10% Hetero men

or 2/3 of the AIDs population comes from 2 high risk groups.
The next question is what percentage of the general population are Homosexual men, or IV drug users to understand how much of an increased risk those two represent.

15 years ago it was very rare that women got infected, the majority were from men who had contracted from one of the 2 high risk activities and went back to their wives girlfriends etc and shared what they had. probably most did not even know they were diseased when they took it home.

Spin the numbers by race
Black 54% of new AIDS cases but about 12% of general population
White 26% of new AIDS cases
Hispanic 19% of new AIDS cases also approx 12% of population

I also used a guestimate of white as about 70% of population leaving about 6% for various others.

So statistically a black person has a 12 times greater chance of getting AIDs than a White person, and a Hispanic 4 times greater chance.

Worldwide women infections are caused a lot by prostitution/slavery where if you have enough partners eventually one will have AIDS.

Sarge is willing to discuss ideas on an intelligent level.

Bacpac sometimes makes points that are worth rebutting. Sometimes he seems willing to think. Often he is funny. Sometimes he has practical, helpful things to say.

I do think you are missing a lot if you lump the two of them together. I haven't seen Sarge take a swipe at anyone that was grossly disproportianate to the swipes the poster person took at him.
