Virginia Vacation

“Well currently I'm on vacation in Virginia visiting batman luke at the navy base.

Why am I posting on TT while I'm on vacation you ask??? BECAUSE I'M BORED OUT OF MY MIND!

He just got a new apartment, so while he's at work, I volunteered to start painting and cleaning.

This apartment is like slum USA. I feel so bad for him, lol. The landlord didn't even have the apartment cleaned for him when he moved in! I have never cleaned such an amazingly dirty bathroom before in my life. Dry heaved the entire time.

Painting the kitchen has been fun, but my back is killing me now.

Half hour before he gets off from work. Can't wait.

He was supposed to be getting off of work at noon every day, but the stupid Navy decides they want to run this big drill this week so now he has to stay til 4 every day while I'm here (at least 4).

Anyone living close to VA Beach who wants to hang out please save me!!!!!”

“I have some bad news for the Scorchess. Norfolk is not considered part of Virginia by other Virginians in much the same way Philadelphia (and environs) are not considered part of Pennsylvania by other Pennsylvanians. They probably would have ceded it over to North Carolina save for the jobs and payments in lieu of taxes that the Naval base generates. That made it worth building tunnels.

Didja get to see Prairie Home Companion Scorch? They were in Norfolk Saturday.”
