I might be able to get rid of the yellow ones.” chili 10:35:29 AM 2/05/06 http://community.webshots.com/photo/117272866/1117275396039041315GLsdlI Thank you, Jesus! ;-)” 1:55:53 PM 2/05/06 “OMG! I'm probably scarred for life, but I'd rather know than not now. Thanks for revealing the full extent of the horror Stove.” 2:36:47 PM 2/05/06 “I let cottonsox go off on one #&%!$ing trip.... and she comes back with duck shoes. I suspect Ewker and binks had something to do with that.” 12:18:37 PM 2/06/06 “well hell, I just bought yellow ones from Wal-Mart. :) the kidlets have green and pink, same price as Target.” 12:35:07 PM 2/06/06 “who me???” 12:36:55 PM 2/06/06 ““well hell, I just bought yellow ones from Wal-Mart. :) the kidlets have green and pink, same price as Target.” twigeater 12:35:07 PM 2/06/06 Twiggy can get away with it. Poor chili can't. ;-)” 12:45:20 PM 2/06/06 “As soon as I get the new pair, I am having a "Yellow Waldie Burning Party". I would throw the ugly bastards off the bridge into the river, but they would just create an eyesore as they floated all the way from Townsend to the Gulf of Mexico.” 12:50:17 PM 2/06/06 “didn't someone's waldie type shoes explode when they were too near fire? lumberzac's, I think...?? I've been wearing my lovely yellow shoes since I got them. Got purple ones too! :)” 12:52:31 PM 2/06/06 “Tie Dye crocs available at payless!” 10:45:50 PM 2/25/06 Those are for women and DDX, jackstraw “http://www.payless.com/Catalog/SLCategory.aspx?SLCategory.aspx?&search=true&TLC=Mens&searchcat=Mens&searchtext=airwalk Men's $15-18 http://www.payless.com/Catalog/SLCategory.aspx?SLCategory.aspx?&search=true&TLC=Womens&searchcat=Womens&searchtext=airwalk Women's $15-18 Buy One, get next 1/2 price free shipping for orders over $40 I'm wearing my Airwalks right now.” 10:57:29 PM 2/25/06 “why would I wanna see a waldi spin? then they tell you it spins, but once you click, it doesn't spin at all. oh, okay so it spins a little. still why would i want to see such a tinny picture spin? btw: i want the baby blue ones. I don't like the multicolored once. [I hope I am not turning into a man]” 12:11:29 AM 2/26/06 “OK... from Stovie's link: I think this is a pretty cool looking shoe. I might have to pick one up. ”6:11:24 AM 2/26/06 “The Connect Slings are really cool....I'm gonna run and get me some of them sandals........” 6:21:37 AM 2/26/06 “yeah, the connect sandle caught my eye also..one can never have too many shoes...this from someone one called the "Imelda Marcos of St Croix Falls"....LOL....” 7:06:06 AM 2/26/06 “ ![]() I have this type. The weight of each shoe is 4.5 oz, very light.” 8:23:50 AM 2/26/06 “ok ya'all since I STILL can't fine my tevas, im considering trying something new.... Waldies! But are they really all that??? are they comfy to hike in like tevas? do they stay on your feet during fast water crossings?” 11:41:19 AM 4/03/06 “No, they are not comfy to wear all day and they don't fit snug enough for secure fast water crossings. They are good for poking around in, sitting around in and quick errands here and there. I tried wearing mine all day and my feet cried out loud.” 12:19:25 PM 4/03/06 “I concur. Not to mention I looked like a big duck with those yellow bastards on my feet. Oh, by the way, I am having a "burn the waldies" celbration at Trail Days.” 12:24:04 PM 4/03/06 “Yam got some fake waldies for me off of the internet, and they are more comfy than the name brand. They dont have those little pokey things sticking in to your feet. I dont know where she got them though. They are great for lounging around in camp, and better than tevas to backpack with cause they are virtually wieghtless.” 12:38:23 PM 4/03/06 “Yow! "Burn the Waldies???" Chili, keep in mind that here in Damascus all the good old boys (and girls) wear holey shoes, and you may incur the Wrath of Bubba.” 1:53:59 PM 4/03/06 “My Crocs with the heel strap fit great. I wouldn't hike in them all day, but they are secure enough for stream crossings. I guess it depends on the fit. I've walked a couple miles with them (without backpack) - no problem, but they are really camp and stream shoes for me. They weigh nothing. I've gotten to love having them around the house. Mine are Sage (a dulled dark green) and aren't too noticable.” 2:16:06 PM 4/03/06 “Glad I asked then before wasteing my b-day moolah on them. My feet have to breath...even on trail I wear my tevas sometimes to let them air out while I hike, in camp, crossing streams...I geuss I'll buy a new pair then.” 2:33:42 PM 4/03/06 “My waldies are about worn out from wearing aroundthe house and yardevery day. My only complaint is I can't wear them barefoot, because sweat causes severe drag and chafing in those shoes.” 3:17:21 PM 4/03/06 “matahari posted a link to some REALLY cool shoes that are ALL THAT. I never did see what people see in Crocs. Personally, I think they're uglier than sin. The post may be buried in this thread even.” 3:17:24 PM 4/03/06 “It was stovie that posted them. Airwalks. The following links are dead now, tho. But the shoes are Airwalks. They look cool. Those are for women and DDX, jackstraw “http://www.payless.com/Catalog/SLCategory.aspx?SLCategory.aspx?&search=true&TLC=Mens&searchcat=Mens&searchtext=airwalk Men's $15-18 http://www.payless.com/Catalog/SLCategory.aspx?SLCategory.aspx?&search=true&TLC=Womens&searchcat=Womens&searchtext=airwalk Women's $15-18 Buy One, get next 1/2 price free shipping for orders over $40 I'm wearing my Airwalks right now.” StoveStomper That was posted on this thread dated 02/26/06 last edited: 4/03/06 3:21:52 PM” 3:20:30 PM 4/03/06 “SC, I have seen Tevas at DSW for around $10 and someitmes less. You have to go to the back to the clearance rack. There is a DSW out in the Southlake mall area (Merrillville). After having really painful blistered feet on Isle Royale, I hiked a little in my Crocs. Not especially easy to do because of the very rocky terrain there, but it was possible and was better than mincing my feet up even worse in my boots.” 9:31:35 PM 4/03/06 “I saw a kids play on Fractured Fairy Tales Friday afternoon. Sure seemed funny to see Cinderella in neon green Waldies as the slipper that fit. :-)” 9:51:57 PM 4/03/06 “FYI, The Airwalk version is back at Payless in black, blue, or pink for 14.99. Typically it goes down in price if you wait a while. Of course, size selection will also diminish. http://www.payless.com/Catalog/ProductDetail.aspx?&TLC=Womens&SLC=WomensCasuals&BLC=WomensCasualsComfort&Width=Regular&ItemCode=52959&LotNumber=043039&Type=Adult&Popularity=599&DescriptiveColor=Black” 10:40:47 PM 4/03/06 “I went to a store down here called "Sand Dollar"....said they had a new shipment of crocs........they did....BUT...I wasn't going to pay that price....so I went to Walmart and picked up a cheap pair of PINK ones...woooohooooooooo......they are pretty comfy...I wore them fishing one day.....I don't think I would want to wear them to walk a long distance in......I love my tevas and my thongs.....” 6:31:48 AM 4/04/06 “I love my tevas and my thongs.....” - div Woo Hoo! That I want to see! :-)” 8:50:54 AM 4/04/06 “I saw in a store ( I forget where), that this type of material is being used for more styles of really cheap camp shoes. I saw one pair that wrapped the feet a little tighter and could only be described as a "water shoe". I'm thinking quite soon we might find a balance and have some styles that will hold on in stream crossings but still let the dogs breathe a little bit back at camp.” 5:13:22 PM 4/04/06 “OMG...lol.....thongs = flip flops...... aren't y'all afraid of losing your crocs/waldies in the current when stream crossing?????” 5:53:35 AM 4/05/06 “Yes. But if you use the strap that helps a little. I would only wear them through slow moving water or creeks.” 6:45:50 AM 4/05/06 “...well.....I guess maybe if they float you can retrieve them.......the bad thing about tevas in camp is walking thru the dew...or if it rains....your toes get wet.......but not cold..I have worn them in winter and with my smart wool socks, my feet stay warm...... last edited: 4/06/06 5:51:16 AM” 5:50:13 AM 4/06/06 “I dont mind wet toes :) They dry so fast.” 10:16:32 AM 4/06/06 dont hate! 3:05:55 PM 9/05/06 “LMAO!! Did you read the part about the fanny packing?” 9:33:59 PM 9/05/06 “i read vice every day. the do's and dont's crack me the fck up” 9:51:28 PM 9/05/06 “btw, i dont post there very often, but if you see "tyler durden", thats probably me” 9:52:43 PM 9/05/06 in defense of crocs “Subject: crocs Date: Aug 15 2006 08:47:19 PM Author: they're not supposed to be fashionable i am from boulder colorado, where crocs were invented. a friend of mine was a key investor in crocs when it was just a fledgling company. i ended up investing as well. long story short, my investment was returned to me 3 fold when crocs went public. when you're done #&%!$ing about how stupid they look, you guys can all come visit me at my new vacation home in Vail.” 11:41:22 AM 9/06/06 “The one and only reason I ever wore those ugly ass Yellow Waldies was for Cottonsox. Suffice it to say, they will never be on my feet again.” 12:00:09 PM 9/06/06 “dont hate, celebrate” 1:37:48 PM 9/06/06 “Love the site, some really funny stuff. Never heard of it before.” 1:49:06 PM 9/06/06 “I got mortar all over my crocs and guess what, they rinsed right off. I love them for what they are. Ugly @ss utilitarian, light-as-a-feather clogs.” 4:42:15 PM 9/06/06 “I noticed that too, Sass. Some kinds of paint come off pretty easily too, but when the soles get pretty worn, they absorb water like a freaking sponge.” 4:45:32 PM 9/06/06 “I spent a whole weekend in my crocks and I don’t like them much. They rub, they feel slimy and nasty and they have no support. I’m going back to the good old sandals.” 11:17:19 AM 9/07/06 “waldies and crocs are much better when worn with light socks. I don't like to wear mine barefoot either.” 11:22:18 AM 9/07/06 “They make great slippers, especially to run out to get the paper or the mail.” 12:10:54 PM 9/07/06
