“It's actually something similar to an idea I have for a publication on this coast. It's a little different, but might be interesting to see how this shapes up.

one of my high school classmates owns a magazine company... I've got experience with photoshop and the Adobe Creative suites... Maybe we can talk? :-)

If you want to self-publish, I can recommend a printing press that can do multi-colors (or even CMYK) for small runs... Depends on how big you plan to do your magazine and how you want to publish...

Trust me, I've seen some pretty bad magazines around my way.... (Do yourself a favor and make sure you have a GOOD editor / proofreader!! One magazine (obviously aimed at the 20-30 crowd misspelled the word "you're" about 6 times in one paragraph (using "your" instead.) As someone who is picky about spelling, it was driving me crazy to read it--I really had the urge to mark up the magazine with red ink and mail it back to the editor/writer.... LOL

“Well right now I'm the writer/editor/publisher! LOL. Yes, the spelling and gramatical errors would drive me batty! I was the copy editor for a school newspaper once upon a time (now wishing I'd made better connections back then!) There were several articles I just plain refused to even edit. I sent them back to the writers. I'm picky! lol. And I want a quality product. :)

Good news is that I have at least one advertiser and several (excellent!) writers lined up already...
