Echoes of reggae comin' through my bedroom wall
havin' a party up next door but i'm sittin here all alone
two lovers in the bedroom and the other starts to shout
all i got is this blank stare and that don't carry no clout at
all

destination unknown
ruby ruby ruby ruby soho

he's singin and she's there to lend a hand
he's seen his name on the marquee but she will never understand
once again he's leavin' and she's there with a tear in her eye
embraces with a warm gesture it's time, time to say goodbye

ruby's heart ain't beatin cause she knows the feelin' is gone
she's not the only one who knew there's somethin' wrong
little lover's in the distance as she wipes a tear from her eye
ruby's fading out, she disappears, it's time, time to say
goodbye

I never read the rugby thread
The rugby thread I did not read
But when I saw the rugby thread
T'was Ruby's name I saw, indeed.

I started once to make THIS thread
I didn't finish what lizs completed,
Her sentence one, "it had to be done,"
Was word for word in the post I deleted.

Remember still, despite the thrill,
Of TT trips when Ruby comes,
The hazard's real, that's the appeal,
So run for your livers and lock up your sons.

Ruby Baby

Dion And The Belmonts

Ah now said I love a girl and-a Ruby is her name
This girl don't love me but I love 'er just the same
(Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh), Ruby, Ruby, I'm-a want ya
Like a ghost I'm-a gonna haunt ya
Ruby, Ruby, Ruby will you be mine?, sometime

Ah each time I see you, baby my heart cries
I tell ya I'm gonna steal you away from all those guys
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, from the happy day I met ya
Now I made a bet that I was goin' to get ya
Ruby, Ruby, Ruby will you be mine?

"Hey-hey " overlaid with (Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, baby)
"Hey-hey " overlaid with (Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, baby)
"Hey-hey " overlaid with (Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, baby)
"Hey-hey " overlaid with (Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, baby)

["Hey-hey " interspersed with "Oh, oh, oh, oh"]
"Hey-hey " overlaid with (Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, baby)}
Well, I tell ya

Now I love this girl I said-a Ruby is her name
When this girl looks at me she just sets my soul aflame
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, I got some hugs and-a kisses, too
Yeah and now I'm gonna give-a them all to you
Now, listen, now Ruby, Ruby, when will you be mine?

"Hey-hey " overlaid with (Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, baby)
"Hey-hey " overlaid with (Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, baby)
"Hey-hey " overlaid with (Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, baby)
"Hey-hey " overlaid with (Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, baby)
"Hey-hey " overlaid with (Oh, oh, oh, oh)

Ah listen, listen, listen, now
Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby will you be mine?

Treebeard, am not sure you're acknowledging this -- although I think your are, but your "huh" threw me -- LOL! -- I said those words in Post No. 6 on the Rugby thread. You said them in Post No. 9.

LOL, I wondered where Ruby was.

Well you see, there was this thread, "Rugby is dangerous." And many, many people (OK, at least 3 or 4) thought it said "Ruby is dangerous."

Take it from there. You know how strangely TT minds work. ;-)

Jon is home on leave. So I've been so busy playing with him that I have barely even sat at my desk to turn on the computer.

Over the last week and a half we have rented a Harley for a few days, gone to a couple parties, spent a fun but cold day at Wrigley Field at a Cubs/Mets game, spent a day trout fishing (I learned how to fly fish), shopped, hung out, and lots and lots of grocery shopping. ;) It's been good to spend time together after nearly 10 months apart.

I'm supposed to be working today, but it's so hard to concentrate.

Nice lyrics/poem/ditty, Fritz! And I never knew there were so many songs about Ruby before?!?!?

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby Chevrolet
In third grade I once kissed Barbara Ruby! She said that if I did it again, she would not let me be one of her boy friends. I did date her some during high school. Wish I had married her. Her father owned the largest car dealership in Chicago!

BTW, TT Ruby looks pretty very good, too.
BTW, those lyrics at the top of this post were a song played over and over on Chicago radio stations.

I liked this Ruby thread the best.....better than all the other "Hey Ruby" threads.

I managed to get my telescoping fork down to three sections so you should be able to do the same with your spoon as well. Just pop the cap off the end (doesn't matter if you damage it because you won't need it anymore) and then close the spoon all the way except for the end section. Grab the very end section and carefully slam it closed. The end of the next section should pop through and expose the shims that keep them from separating. The shims will fall or pop off and you can then remove the outer (end) piece. Perform the same move on the next few pieces you want to remove. It works great and you'll have a shorter, lighter telescoping spoon, but the handle is a pretty small diameter. Still good enough to use though! I think a small screw can then be used to plug the open end.

The fork also went from 1.3oz down to .8oz.

Hey Rubester, did you ever get your spoon shortened? If you haven't taken it apart yet, be extra careful: if you save the three pieces you remove, you can then reassemble those pieces and make a second spoon.

Noncon, what would you know about spooning?
Spirit Coyote

Nope, not yet. I'm not sure I'm going to do it after all.

However, the prospect of taking two spoons and making them into four....why, isn't that what can happen when you spoon?

Hmmmm...perhaps it is a good idea after all.
Ruby

Actually I keep my spoons protected.....an unprotected spoon starts mingling with the forks and the next thing you know you have a house full of little sporks. That's a whole lot of new mouth feeders.
