I've only ever bought 1 thing on ebay and it was a great price.

I've seen what you're talking about and wondered the same thing. Doesn't anyone do any research before bidding? Is it just the thrill of winning the auction? Or are the majority of bidders on ebay morons?? Good luck answering that question!

Sorry about losing the auction, better than paying too much.

The is currently software available that will "snipe" an auction. The software waits until the last few seconds to post a bid virtually closing out anyone else, except of course other snipers. I have given up on ebay for the most part. They are no longer what they started out being.

I research, and if I think ebay is a great deal I'll use auctionsniper.
Lots to consider, return policiy for me is worth extra cash.

I normally don't buy anything really important on ebay. I like to buy camera batteries, memory cards, camera filters, once in a while a xbox game etc...

Got to research tho, because those are not always cheaper on ebay.

those ebay snipers only work if youre willing to go higher than everyone else, however

well sure but if you are getting outbid you don't want it anyways.
I am pretty good with sticking to my $ limit. I guess it's not such a big deal on the items I bid on because they are selling them all the time.

What has really soured me on ebay is the way so many sellers will make their shipping rate reflect the price they want for the item. I thought that was supposed to be against the rules of use, but it certainly isn't enforced very much any more. I used to really enjoy the site and the process but I don't hardly even look at it any more.

I feel if you're stupid enough to bid higher...it's your own damn fault. If you're smart about it, and consider shipping you may find a great deal.

I use the snipers to figure out WHAT I am willing to pay...have won about 70% of the time

I wonder if the people who are paying rediculously high prices for things are actually buying their own goods and using e-bay as a money laundering facility. Hmmmmm...

You know everything is a conspiracy.

I tell what they do...they have another friend bid against their item...so the bids go up. People tend to want things more if they see other bidders bidding against them. Stupid.
