“TB - postal workers prefer pistols. I've never cared for handguns. I did grow up around target rifles and enjoy an hour or two on the range with my dad from time to time.

sacco - I thought the Columbian government provided the protection and guns were merely a means to an end. If not guns, then they'd use machetes or some other device.

I haven't smoked pot in years as I've chosen not to. Doesn't mean I try to force my opinion on others.

I would feel far more uncomfortable with Sarbar carrying a lethal weapon than someone choosing to have a quiet smoke at the end of the night.”

“That comes full circle back to the original point I made at the beginning of this thread. I think the extremism of the type of partying going on varies with different groups of people. Hey, I don't feel comfortable with a rowdy, frat-like bunch. But, like Y2 says, a little toned down end-of-the-night ingesting of 'whatever' around a campfire, accompanied by a few laughs amongst friends, hardly sounds like the end of the world. Does it?

Any smoking affects others with secondhand smoke. Pot is illegal.

Alcohol makes some people very aggressive, others loud, and vomiting is against the principles of LNT. But small amounts do not affect others if you are not operating machinery like cars, trucks, or firearms.

Firearms have the potential to ruin your day, or someone else's day. If anyone knows you have it, you have lost the element of surprise if you do need it, a big giveaway.
Firearms without the appropriate permits are illegal. Too bad as that was supposed to be a constitutional right, not a privelege.

Both alcohol and firarms do little to reduce pack weight, and the pot smoker has to add a lot of food weight to satisfy the munchies.
