Golite Ether Wind Shirt

“I have been looking at this wind shirt. Anyone have it. Pro and cons.

“I have a Golite ether:

pros:
Very lightweight. Very water and wind resistant.

Cons:
Not nearly as breathable as my Montane windshirt, not even close. The Acrylic coated tomen fabric is more waterproof then breathable. It's see through so it's not exactly something I wear around town. I didn't like how tight the bottom elastic was to I removed it and sewed in my own elastic.”

“It's an outer layer for me. it looks odd though when you can see through the windshirt to whatever you have underneath :D Yes... I'm metro remember? Well... i need to correct myself. I'll wear it around town when I have a solid color long sleeve shirt underneath. The Fabric looks like Silnylon... only lighter. Have you seen the Mountain Hardwear Ghost windshirts? or their Ghost down jackets or Ghost series of sleepign bags? It's the same fabric.”

“Both my wife and I have one and we both like them a lot. I agree with the comment about the elastic at the bottom. Were I not so slender I'd trim it, as well.

In true DeoreDX fashion, we picked ours up on sale at Sierra Trading Post; $28 or something apiece.”
