“my first instinct is to side with the donor, because, after all, she did agree not to hold him responsible. but on the other hand, it could be argued that the child has a right to support from both the mother and father. for me, the argument hinges on whether or not the child has a reasonable expectation of support from both parents. who knows what slippery slope this could go down. if they find in favor of the woman, then anonymous donors could be sued for back payment. and what about single adoptive parents? would they heve the right to track down the mother and demand child support? what if it was a gay couple, say, two men? could they track down the mom and sue for child support cuz the child has to be supported by both mom and dad? a little far-fetched, but far fetched sht happens because of the law”
