“well, so far maine has greeted me w/ 5 straight days of rain!! i can't even get my kayak out or hike w/out getting drenched. :(

“The Berkshire Mountains in Mass would probably be the halfway hiking point. Those are supposed to be very pretty mountains. We could do a hike on the AT to Mt. Greylock (highest mountain in Mass).”

“the berkshires in MA and taconics in CT are very nice. beautiful waterfalls and alpine-like mountain summits. greylock is alright. bear mtn and mt race are awesome, open windswept summits. you can drive to the top of greylock, which can be crowded. some nice falls and cascades flow off of greylock.”
