These are on sale at REI for $49.99/pr and I was thinking about picking some up from my local store. Anyone have these they look like a good buy. Definatly a plus over the regular cheepo ones with the nice strap and grips. I have been having hip/knee trouble after 6miles with 35lbs. Plus I could use them with my tarp I guess. Time I should get em? Thoughts?

I just bought a pair of the Ascent Anti Shock poles for my wife when they were on sale for $69.
She really likes them, as it takes the strain off her hips.

that was during their last sale? Looks like they are $99 now. I'll tell the knee just gives out. Looks like the traverse's are backordered. Always a dissapointment.

I have the traverse, dont despair, they are always going on sale....infact I got them for 20 buckaroos, cause they were on sale and I used my dividened to get them a few years back. I have no complaints but I think the whole anti-shock gimick is a hoax. I see no diffrence really when I am using the anti-shock vrs when I am not.

If you look close they are made by Kemperdel. Great quality.be sure and get them at REI because of their return policy. Sticks do break and that springy thingy is probably expensive to replace.

I agree with Spirit about the anti-shock. Adds weigth to the poles too for all you ounce counters. In fact I removed all that crap from mine I disliked it so.

How do you remove it? I would really like to take them out.
