“I went to Scottrade.com and they say right up front on their webpage that they have to have the signed paper work sent into the office before my account gets activated. Fine, but I'm in a hurry trying to buy a stock, so I don't have three days to give them. So I head over to ameritrade.com. The front page says "sign up for an account" and that it'll be "take 15 minutes," as if the account'll be active after the completion of electronic forms. Bastards. Liars. I go through the whole sign up process, check my answers carefully, and get to the end and the page says that my account hasn't been activated; that I need to call ameritrade. I call. They tell me that I need to send in signed paper work. The woman on the phone is oblivious to why I have to fill out the e-form and then re-submit my information via snail mail. What the HELL? Why not tell me clearly that they will need hard docs in the office from the get-go (like Scottrade does)? Why do they create a page that wastes my time and frustrates me (a potential client) to the point where I will NEVER use their system / services again? AMERITRADE SUCKS DUDE. They're more expensive than other discounters like Scott., ameritrade's web pages are not concise, nor are they clear. The phone help is moronic, and I hope they bite and choke on the big one. Ameritrade, you cost me money today. Bastards.” 4:04:36 PM 5/27/05 “Thanks. I'm shopping for an online broker now. I'll keep that in mind.” 4:28:03 PM 5/27/05
