this thread is for those who want to say a few words about lost loved ones

mom and i went to the cemetary last night to put flowers on dads grave. his body wore out from treatments to combat his lung cancer. he worked for nearly 30 years as an electrician in chrysler transmission plant in kokomo, indiana. he was the youngest of 6 children. he is survived by his wife and son (crash! bang! thang!) and was a good man.

I still think about you best bud, you were too young and had so much ahead of you. Nobody our age is supposed to die but I guess god needed you by his side and the beautiful streams you restored and the bridge you built is just a reminder of the good things you have done.

For my grandfather
He died in 1978. He gave me my love of the outdoors. As a grandfather, he was the absolute best! He always had time for his grandchildren and took delight in being a grandfather. He took me fishing, hunting, and camping. Didn't matter that I was a girl.

I still miss him.

What can I say.The my father was a saint. I'm talking about walk 10 miles in the snow to return a few pennies goodness. He spent his last day arranging an anuall cookout/yardsale to benefit missionaries in PauPau New Guinea. A devoted husband of 40 years. 40 years continuos service to his country. A genuine lover of people. an infectous smile, quik wit and stubborn as the day is long in his convictions. If I can create even a fraction of the goodwill and love he engendered, I will be able to say I have led a successful life. We miss you Pop.

my best friend of 34 years - - -
Tank commander, Battle of Lete Gulf, WWII. Married a wonderful woman that enjoyed the outdoors as equally as him. Raised 3 boys, me, Ron and Mike. Dad passed in 1983 at the tender young age of 59.
I spent 20 years in the Navy, Ron spent 21 in the Army and Mike 4 in the Coast Guard.
You are deeply missed, Dad !!!

And for all the active duty men and women in our armed forces today.... JOB WELL DONE !!!

Thinking of my mom who passed just over two years ago. Battled asthma her entire life, suffered through a brain aneurysm, stroke, paralysis, and the raising of nine kids. All of that and more and she never complained. Not once. She was always thankful for her position in life. Any problem I ever have will pale to compare to what she went through. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution: her ancestry traces straight back to one of the original fighters of our country. I miss you mom.
