I’d rather stay home on holiday weekends

“Weekends like this one or Labor Day or the 4th of July, I gave up traveling on holiday weekends like these many years ago. I can’t stand the traffic and all the crazy drivers and when you get to your destination it’s just mobbed with people. I find it’s much more relaxing to stay home and do things with the family locally or get some things done around the house on these weekends.”

“I have to agree with you on that :) ITs terrible out on the trails this holiday...too many people and such. So I am working over time this holiday and making loads of cash at work :)”

“I normally stay home on holiday weekends, but not this time. I will be heading out shortly for a backpack trip.”

“Last year was too much...I vowed never again to hike on summer holiday weekends...yowzers! I will happilly hike in the winter though, as most are too smart to be on the trail in the snow and - degree weather lol.

“I just got back from the farmer's markey downtown. Ugh! The traffic is horrible east and westbound, there's too many people driving really badly, and some mooyuk dropped a couch on one of the main bridges downtown for 2 cars to ram into. They're hurt, too. Many many people are heading to the beaches for the weekend. If I'm going back out in the sun, I'll just go to my parents' house and hang by their pool thank you very much. On the flipside, I got some beautiful veggies and stuff at the market. Lovely turnips and greens, 3 types of peppers, peaches, little eggplants, asparagus, and some of the best looking tomatoes I've seen in years. Yummers! I found tupelo honey (a regional tree) too and that's goooood stuff!”

“I too like staying home on the Holidays. I don't like hiking on ANY weekend though. I work midnights now, so I have EVERY day & days off during the week.”
