“I'm working like a dog, but just around the house. Finishing a front concrete walkway. Building ladders & trapdoor for my grandson's 2nd story playhouse w/windows / screens, outlets, lights & covered 4x10' deck. (trying to break his 'other' arm) Weedwacking & welding. Mowing lawns (my daughter's too) She let me know they got their tractor fixed AFTER I mowed their couple acres. They went to Hershey Park this weekend. We were invited but I wouldn't be happy in those crowds.”

“Working through Sunday myself. God is it awful and hot. I thought I was going to melt. It was the first day of the old sweat condensing on the hard hat for me. Runs right off the brim and down on my glasses. Must have cleaned the dried sweat salt off my glasses a dozen times. The cooling towers at work are already having trouble keeping up. We are actually creating our own rain from the condensed water vapor. I can't believe it is only may!

I'm putting in for working straight nights or I'm moving North. Hiking anywhere south of 35 degrees Latitude from now to October is nuts. Signing off from somewhere near N30 W90”

“NY and New England always cool to a nice 50-60 overnight (sometimes lower), even in the summer. Makes for such pleasant camping...

Only catch is that you have to endure brutal winters (cold and snow -- sometimes lots of) and the legendary spring black fly season...”

“My regular job allows me a 4 day weekend for the holiday, but my part-time boss needed me, so I'm driving truck all weekend. Just got home for some shut-eye, and I head out to do it all again tonight.”
