5 Hikers, How Many Tents?
Family Configuration:5
Gear Owned: 1) Kelty Streamside 2(2 man)
1) SD Reverse Combi (2 man)

Third kids goes where?

Considering another 2 man tent which would allow additional storage capabilities.
OR
A 3) man tent to house all 3 girls.

Which do you think is the better option?

pixie..
that's a great idea. I've been looking for a reason to buy the Hubba. Now I've got one!
And you're right. My daughter would totally dig it.

My first night with my (young) daughter by herself was a nightmare for me. My daughter wanted to be in her own tent & to her credit only woke up once to call my name. Reassured, she slept the rest of the night. Me, on the other hand didn't sleep the whole night fearing for her safety. Next time she slept with my wife & I.

My grandson will be another matter. I'll fear for the safety of all the critters & any other campers in the woods. He finially got his cast off, but scraped his face & knee up at Hershey Park this weekend. Didn't faze him.

Fear for her safety? Or worried about her being scared? She should be fine safety wise as long as she has no food, lip gloss, etc in the tent with her.
