Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow to be combined

I have mixed feelings about this. These are my alltime favorite two books. I would love to see the battleroom on film but am afraid it will just be another Starship Troopers tripe film

They absolutely butchered Starship Troopers.

Orson Scott Card is one of my fav writers.
I've read all of the Ender and Alvin Maker series and currently on book four (Earthfall) of the Homecoming series.

I hate to see a book that great turned into a movie. I'm always terrified it'll be butchered.
I haven't read anything by Orson Scott Card I didn't love.

Shadow of the Giant - read it , anouther good one :)

If they take the time to express all of the morality play that goes on in Enders Game It should be a great movie but hollywood is notoriously bad about tackling that type of material. Much of what was done to ender would be very shocking to the general public. I seriously doubt peters antics will all make the screen either. And the killing that takes place in the toilet (enders 2cnd) will be very controversial to say the least.

One good thing though the buggers are very much similar to starship troopers Bugs so they could steal a few props... LOL

loved the homecoming series - a very good look at the interplay religeon and faith have in our lives.

What I understand is that Card wrote the original screenplay and has a lot of say into the making of the film so hopefully it will stay true to his ideas. One of teh screenwriters is a fan and read the book long before and his partner just read it after getting the gig. They said they wanted to treat the battleroom as more than just a place to have great Special Affects. I hope so, because the battleroom had a lot of character driven events.

I checked out Shadow of the Giant from the library yesterday. Going to start reading it tonight.
