I just recevied a epson r1800 today, i done lots of printing with a r800 on a mac at school, now i have the r1800 on a pc and the printer properties dialog box is too small to see all the options and i can't get it to print right with out all the options. I've tried all the ways i know how to make the window bigger on little box up top to do it, and not little arrow on the edge to the box. Any one know what is going on please let me know, i've uninstall and every thing i'm at a loss. PLEASE HELP

I have no idea if this will help, but would changing the monitor screen resolution do anything? Increasing the resolution usually makes things smaller and tighter, right? Let me know if this works. You know what I mean, right, the monitor resolution. Go under control panel to do.

Go to epson's website, download and install the driver that is most current, it may be different than the one supplied with your unit.
Remove the printer definition from your printer folder so that the system needs to find it again.
What OS are you runnning? Are you able to install either a USB or a Parallel connection?

Can you post a screen shot or a window shot (alt-prt scr) and tell us what part of the box you are trying to access?

Try a right click on the dialog box. Can you see Properties? Can you change the settings to run in minimized or normal mode?
This is really a strange problem.

I had some dumb problem like this on the iMac at work. A guy does film reviews and always brings in CDs/DVDs from the film company. I forget which one, but there is one that is so screwed up!! Like you're saying, the menu box comes up on a screen that is too big for the monitor. I never did figure out what to do about that......

Take it back. Buy an HP Photsmart 450ce off of Ebay. It's a great little printer that prints quality photo's and 8.5x11 paper.

Are you using Epson's Easy Print Software or another program?
Can you creat a document in MS Paint or Image then print it?
I'm trying to establish a hardware vs software problem. Windows or Epson software. There has to be something that you can work from to establilsh a baseline for the next troubleshooting step.

Perhaps Im mistaken but didnt you say the box was too small to use? for this you want lower screen resolution to make it all bigger. and maybe a larger font...

photoguy - Why do you think there are other options to the right?

Did you use the tabs?

Could you use alt-prt scrn instead of "control" to copy just the dialog box? It's hard to read it this small. Thanks.

Changing the resolution won't help that. As a programmer, it looks like a bug with the driver. Check for an update on their web site.

It looks like it's a driver problem. The window should look some thing like the one we have at work for an epson stylus photo rx600.

Let's start at the beginning.
Forget Photoshop.
Let's just get a working baseline.
After you install the printer/drivers.
Go to Control Panel, go to Printers, go to your printer right, click, go to properties and print a test page. I'm assuming you can do that with this printer correct?

You may also want to verify that your monitor drivers are correct, and that you are not using the standard plug and play default that Windows uses.

photoguy - You don't need to make the image bigger. Could you try the alt-print screen please? It will allow us to get a good look at the window that is giving you problems. The rest is not needed to see at this point.
