“Here's some pics from our (me and Mrs. Nice) trip to Trinity Alps with a side trip to the coast. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ”10:51:48 AM 6/03/05 “Wow! I like the meadow with the mountain backdrop and the foxglove. I almost missed this thread. When did you go there? I surprised there's no snow.” 1:46:14 AM 6/07/05 “Gorgeous. Ma nature was very cooperative.” 12:48:01 PM 6/07/05 “Thanks guys. The mountain meadow is the lower meadow and it gets snowy not too far beyond that. We decided to turn back not too long after so I didn't go all the way to the lakes, which were frozen over anyway. I have to say this is one of the most beautiful hikes I've ever been on. It had everything, gentle streams, swift rivers, waterfalls, peaceful woods, majestic snowy peaks. When we pitched our tent and the afternoon light softened a bit, it seemed the dogwoods appeared out of nowhere and were all around us. It was like walking among the stars. ![]() Wannabp, do you know what this plant is that was covering the meadow? ![]() I found out what the foxglove was, but didn't see this one in my guidebook. ![]() And I couldn't decide if this was the same thing as the foxglove. The bell shaped flowers are similar, but they're not so packed in or facing all one direction. See, this one has the same flower, but looks quite different to me. The biggest one I've seen actually. ![]() I love the color of a storm. The deepest color I know, here twinged with a hint of pink and orange from the sunset. ”5:53:18 PM 6/07/05 “nice pics” 6:06:03 PM 6/07/05
