“An IM window that popped up yesterday had me pondering the question of why in our society we shun the action of gathering moss. Apparently one must strive to be a stone that possesses rotational inertia. It is the stone with and absolute value of rotational velocity greater then Zero which in turn does not collect this class of bryophytic plant. I can only assume that this is an ancient vestige of past religious zealots who found the touching of moss... ill repute because of the fact that the Moss's sex organs are located on the tips of the plant and therefore one cannot in turn "collect" moss without in a sense being sexually active with the plant.”
