Photos from Memorial weekend and "Back i n the day.View MessagesViewing posts 1 to 9 of 9 messages posted.
“I finally got my photos posted from Memorial weekend. I was able to get away by myself for a quite, personal hike through the Hoodoo/Loomis area, checking on my caches and meditating. This area is kinda like my Church, lots of magic here. On Monday I took a friend up Loomis; we were greeted with some great cloud formations, snow and very pleasant weather. Memorial weekend, Hoodoo and Loomis At the "urging" of my wife, I cleaned up my gear room...in doing so I found a box of photos that I had all but forgotten about. Pictures of a rescue on Bollibokka Mountain (I still don't remember any one there with a camera) an ice cave we discovered in a lava field, climbing photos from 10 to 20 years ago, forgotten pictures from a trip into the Palisades and photos from a Crater Lake ski trip. Memories past, but now not, forgotten. Back in the day... I have shared my Back in the day album with the folks who were there, their comments all seemed the same... "My god, I had forgotten about that, thanks!". Those of you that have pictures in shoe boxes of past trips with good friends, consider getting them scanned and posted, your friends will thank you for it ;-)” 8:17:29 PM 6/04/05 “Great photos mtnsteve. It's always fun to see where other people have been and share vicariously in their adventures.” 10:12:12 AM 6/05/05 “I enjoyed looking at the photos. Crater Lake in the snow is beautiful! I spent a lot of time there, but it was always in the summer. Where is Hoodoo Ridge?” 10:57:35 AM 6/05/05 “Thanks, glad you enjoyed them. Hobbit...you have some absolutely beautiful pictures on your web site. The colors and composition are amazing! woodzie...Hoodoo Ridge and The Hoodoo's are in Lassen National Forest, right next to the Park. The only maps it's marked on are those the Park has redone for their own use (in the Ranger station, etc). It was named by one of the Rangers about 15 years ago. In the past, the Hoodoo/Loomis area was used by three different tribes for various ceremonies. They weren’t allowed to war there and I have never found an artifact, even an arrowhead, in the area. They considered it very special place.” 12:30:14 PM 6/05/05 “heehee, I looked at them earlier today...not sure why I didn't post..oh yeah...I went to the gym and swimsuit shopping...uggghhh! Great pictures, I did enjoy them. Have to admit didn't read all of the captions, so who is you on the older pictures?? I love looking at my older pictures (the ones before digital camera) makes me smile every single time. Glad you scanned yours.” 6:59:47 PM 6/05/05 “Great Photos Steve! The "Back in the Day" album idea is a real winner Steve. Thanks!” 9:18:37 PM 6/05/05 Thanks again... “Now that you mention it, I'm not in many of them. In the Bollibokka rescue I'm the guy with his back to ya in the center of pic #9, my jacket makes a couple of appearances in some of the other pics. I'm the one without his helmet on...the kid in the litter is wearing it. I am in a few of the climbing ones and I did add one picture from way back in the day, you'll know it when ya see it, LOL Lets see some of your "Back in the day" photos, I'm sure you all have some... ....unless of course, Back in the day was the late 90's for ya ;-)” 9:59:09 PM 6/05/05 “yeah, i have some back in the days photos, but none are backpacking related. :(” 10:10:26 PM 6/05/05 “Gemini, you can't tell us you went shopping for a swimsuit without posting photos. It's just not done.” 6:33:18 AM 6/06/05
